Steam keys and updates
Added 2024-06-07 04:15:37 +0000 UTCSo. Steam Keys for Love of Magic / Morningstar. I often get asked this, so I guess it's good to clarify things. I give steam keys to any Patreon that wants one, regardless of tier. Yes, even at $1 tier. Yes, I'm aware that this is a terrible business decision; it doesn't matter, because these games would never have been made without the support of my Patreons in the first place.
All builds are rolled out on Steam's Development branch as soon as they're complete; when you check out the build channels on Discord (#morningstar-builds, for example) each of those posts correspond to a new build showing up on the Steam Development branch, and automatically downloading to everyone. Steam's patching system's quick and easy from my point of view (single click, 5 mins), and only downloads what's changed, so it's easy for testers and players.
The Steam keys work in any country, including places like Germany which disallow selling the game. If you're hesitant about letting your family know you're a man/woman of culture, here's how you mark a game as Private on Steam.
What if you don't want to be a Beta tester, and you just want the completed version? Once the game reaches a natural stopping place (usually the end of the Act), I'll push the game to the Default Branch on Steam. I'll also do an itch.io build, and do mirrors that go up here on Patreon.

Finaly got around to getting a patroen with u and was looking to get a Key for Morningstar Book of the fallen. Ive just played it and im hungry for more haha.
