Progress Update
Added 2020-07-01 07:48:06 +0000 UTCI haven't done a progress update in a while; partially that's just me being swamped. If you're playing the Beta builds (either on Discord, or on Steam... as always, if you want a key, let me know), you'll notice we're on Day 92 (Act IV ends of day 76), and we've got some help setting up a date with Akane (they also got her a nice dress).
I've said before that I planned Book 1 to be 5 acts, covering 115 days (last day is Dec 31st); Act I-IV was ~20 days each, with Act IV ending on day 76. I knew in the abstract that it would mean Act V being 39 days, but I thought I could just make it sparser (so less events on the timeline), and let players explore the rest of the Edinburgh content. As I write it, though, it's clear that's not happening, and if anything the conversations are getting longer.
That leaves me with two choices; I can continue to work on Act V for another 6-8 weeks, or I can split the remaining time into two acts (so Book 1 becomes Act I-VI, and Book 2 starts on Act VII). I'm leaning heavily against the second option right now. There's a nice climactic moment coming up towards the end of the next week, so I'll likely use that as the ending of Act V. It means there's another 4 events on the timeline, and a couple of optional events to do, before the Act is complete, and everyone not playing the Beta builds can join in.
