Gotta love how Ging says, "Pariston doesn't care if he wins or lose he's just looking for fun." I feel like Hisoka is the same way. Gin admits its the same for him as well. Gon can be that way too, although he wants to win. The definition of "fun" can vary for each character.

The Pariston related discussions have been a joy to listen to! It reminds me a lot of Alex Goodwin's videos, which I highly recommend anyone here to check out. His thoughts on Pariston were also very interesting to listen to.

Not sure if you're aware or if it'd mentioned in the review but thought it was a fun (and cute) fact that Cheadle's VA is also Pikachu's. Hehe I always think of that when I hear Cheadle speak π

I've had the exact same thoughts about Parriston for years now regarding the Chimera Ant Queen!
Togashi has been known to leave things unexplained for literally decades, so to leave us with such an open mystery right at the start of the arc makes it pretty clear it has to have some kind of significance later down the line. And her washing up where she did was the absolute perfect conditions for her to breed like she did.
On the missing hunters, ealy in the arc when the Chimera Ants decide to have names she makes a mental note to heself that the fact she's pondering their choices may mean she has some human DNA in her. That to me is the biggest indication of Parriston's involvement, as a scenario where she alone has human qualities yet cannot confirm it makes me think her birth had to be special in some way compared to other ants. So circling back, where could the missing hunters be? In the Queen's Mother's belly, as they were used to give birth to the hybrid that started the CA arc off.
This is all speculation on my part but I am 90% convinced of this at this point, so it's nice to hear you have similar thoughts!

When he starts from the beginning and also feels like he wants record discussions for them, going by volume for anime content would work fine, then 2-4 chapters for post anime. That's what I believe would work best.

Even if its a year or more out, whenever you do decide to read the manga it might be somewhat challenging to decide what to cover in a video.
The anime covers around 2-3 chapters per episode, a volume is usually 10 chapters, however the post anime chapters are extremely dense, so if you tried to do one video per volume you might be looking at 4+ hour long discussion and analysis videos. Even though its a long way out I do look forward to seeing you eventually react to the manga, your analysis has been great.

Idk if others has already brought it up already but there IS a Hisoka backstory one-shot written by Ishida Sui (the mangaka of Tokyo Ghoul, another top-tier manga in terms of writing) since he is a huge fanboy of Togashi, and Togashi acknowledged it and said he liked it.
There is also a interview between those two about the one-shot you can find it on the internet.
However, it's up to you take it as canon or not, personally unless we get a Hisoka backstory from Togashi I would consider it canon. It was wonderful to see the styles of both mangakas seamlessly blend in that one-shot.

"The bonds", man from the moment that line-up showed up for elections in ep 137 you knew the elections arc was the perfect setting to reflect on the series, the journey they had and the nakama they made.
