Season 11, Episode 1: Combat, Neo-Italian Style!

This week we're lacing our podcasting gloves up and jumping back into the arena for a brutal and bruising battle, with the fate of the Earth and the colonies hanging in the balance. Rather than our usual pre-season prologue we've decided to get into the action right away with Mobile Fighter G Gundam Episode 1: Gファイト開始! 地球に落ちたガンダム aka Gundam Fight Begins! The Gundam That Fell to Earth.

We've got high kicks, mysterious wanderers, spectacle, speculation, behind the scenes anecdotes, a report on the phantom Gundam project known to the west as "Polca Gundam," and lots more!

11th Gundam Podcast Season... Ready? GO!

Show Notes

Mobile Suit Breakdown is written, recorded, and produced within Lenapehoking, the ancestral and unceded homeland of the Lenape, or Delaware, people. Before European settlers forced them to move west, the Lenape lived in New York City, New Jersey, and portions of New York State, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Connecticut. Lenapehoking is still the homeland of the Lenape diaspora, which includes communities living in Oklahoma, Wisconsin, and Ontario.

You can learn more about Lenapehoking, the Lenape people, and ongoing efforts to honor the relationship between the land and indigenous peoples by visiting the websites of the Delaware Tribe and the Manhattan-based Lenape Center. Listeners in the Americas and Oceania can learn more about the indigenous people of your area at https://native-land.ca/.We would like to thank The Lenape Center for guiding us in creating this living land acknowledgment.

Super excited for this!

Lohengrin

So glad you guys are enjoying this! I loved it when it came out, and it's still one of my personal favorites.

Mark Simmons

It's finally here! I'm so excited to hear your thoughts on my favorite Gundam! Ooh, Sentai mention!

Derek58

I'm so excited you guys are finally getting started on G Gundam. I'll try to avoid being too spoilery here. This is one of my favorite first episodes in Gundam, but it ends up being one of my least liked series overall. That being said I've always found the discussion and research you guys do to enrich my gundam watching experience. Hopefully there's something in this show I've simply been missing.

Not at all! That's something we try to make a point of doing, but occasionally forget at the end of a busy week/when we're in a hurry.

I realize this may be completely asinine, but it would be cool if y’all sanitized that youtube link by deleting the tracker tag (the ? and everything past it). I strongly prefer not to give google more metadata than it already has. Thanks! Super excited for this season.
