Season 10+2: The Environment Problem

This week on MSB, environmentalism consultant Colin returns to the program to discuss the role of the environment across the whole grand sweep of Tomino Gundam to this point. Is Tomino actually an environmentalist? Has he always been one, or did he become one at some point? And what does that really mean?

Please listen to it!

The suggestion that Tomino puts his political beliefs and ideals into the mouths of villains not to espouse them as heroes gone wrong, but simply to make them less one-dimensional is an interesting one. Also I'm kinda curious if anyone besides Colin has actually espoused that "Rebuild 4.0 is way too conservative and white-picket-fencey" observation in their reviews of the movie. Though maybe that's my fault for not watching it yet. I also hope the two (or three) of you consider trawling backwards through Tomino's catalogue one of these days like you've recently done with Dunbine. Mainly for the sake of Zambot and Ideon and all the implications they hold on his work, but also so you can enjoy a really fun show in Xabungle.

To be fair, Kaserelia is a short V2 fly away from Largaine, so if there ever came a time where Uso and the others do need supplies to repair their technology like the computer bank, they can take the V2 core fighter and get there pretty fast or take a leisurely ~4 hour wappa ride (assuming the wiki is correct and Largaine corresponds to Munich and that Wappas move at about the same speed as a car, and that Fuala's attack on Largaine didn't completely destroy the city)
