Omg thank you! I was trying to figure out why she looked so familiar.

xMoonKittyy

They weren’t saying let them out. They were saying that they are patients and need to be treated humanely

Sallie Andrea

Just finished the episode with you guys ! :) The guy that looks familiar Jeff, is playing the bad guy on Weak class hero 1 (who got caught by the police) you have good eyes ;)

Imane ☼

I was also thinking this when they were agreeing with suit guy that they should just remain locked away. Obviously, they should not be roaming around free with the potential of them infecting more people (the main leads don't want that either) but Yihyun and Saebom also recognize the infected as victims. They are also suffering and just because this horrible thing happened to them doesn't erase their humanity/lives before they were infected. It's a double sided coin that has valid points on both sides. I think often times in American media with zombies or humans-turned-monsters it's all about the killing and viewing them as things and erasing their sense of self. What I think is interesting about this show so far is the discussion surrounding humanity and the value of life. There is a huge risk but there is the acknowledgement that they are people worth saving. Of course, the arguments on both sides are flawed but thats realistic to how humans behave and react to crisis.

Aiden

Has anyone seen the story of yaxi palace

Ardadria Davis

I can't believe so much has happened in just 3 episodes! This show's got pace, damn.

Victoria Y

I’m surprised the group didn’t recognize the building rep lady as the politician lady from All of us are dead

Klaas

Yes he is a whole mood lol

Ardadria Davis

I loved Ma Wong!

Anah!

You guys should check Hwayugi(Korean Odyssey)

Ardadria Davis

also "GOTCHA" by Park Jihoon.

zb1 luvr

you should check out the songs "NITRO" and "SERIOUS" by Park Jihoon. (he played Sieun in Weak Hero.)

zb1 luvr

When you guys get time you should check out “flower of evil” it’s so good

Hafffff

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of the show, so i’m in dark about what his character was specifically there for. Like i’ve already seen everything pretty much what happens in the last 4 episodes (9-12). But that is because of people posting spoilers in fan edits on youtube and instagram. But episodes 1-8 before i started actually watching their reactions and seeing fully what the details are, it was pretty hazy.

Mikkeai8908

you don't agree with the main couples morals because you are looking it through an outside wide view on epidemic with the spread and number of cases they have to contain it from spreading but the main couple is looking it from the micro level that each individual matters they are human and they are sick but are being treated as monsters and their families are not aware of their treatment nor are able to see them. I think because we see so many zombie films we stop seeing them as people because its usually when they are already dead but in this they revert back to their human self and its not their choice to hurt and kill people they turn back are ashamed of it. the reason the main couple wanted to expose it was so that the government would be liable and not just hush it and keep quiet, imagine a friend or family member was taken by the government and you never see them again and alone you can't fight the government you don't know if they where killed and no proof no answers.

Anah!

the scene with the old man at McDonalds is to show he cared contrary to his words because his wife asked for a burger and he actually was going to get her that but he couldn't since he didn't understand how to order.

Anah!

which is why , when the female doctor went normal she actually died because she's not a zombie. also these people crave blood rather than flesh.

Bangtan Insfired

a lot of experiments always get done on sick people when a pandemic starts. that's why this show had the leads showing sympathy. i think the reactors missed this point.

When dude was calling about the dermatologist and described her as having double eyelids, it's because most Asians don't have it. Double eyelids are the creases that appear in your upper eyelid when your eyes are open. A majority of Asians have a monolid (also called an epicanthic fold). You can see the difference if you compare any of your eyelids to the male lead's eyelids. His are smooth. In Korea, getting plastic surgery to add a fold is one of the more common procedures, as some see double eyelids as more pleasing.

Finally finished the reaction. Great as usual. Thank you! A few weeks ago, I had to read this article for Korean studies about how elderly folks find those self-ordering machines confusing. “오늘 엄마가 햄버거 가게에 갔는데, 무인 주문이 사용 방법을 몰라서 그냥 집으로 돌아왔다고 해요. 이 이야기 하다가 엄마가 울었어요. 너무 속상하네요.” It starts off with the paragraph above; someone explaining how their mom just wanted a hamburger, but was so confused by the machine she just returned home. It made her so upset she cried as she told them. So when it actually happened in the show I was that Leo in the recliner GIF. 😂

Yes! Goblin was my fave until I watched Woo. Now they’re basically tied. I had treated myself to a fancy hotel staycation for a week last year (to ease the pain of having to cancel my Korea plans for the third time due to pandemic), and I binged Goblin. During that Kpop dancing scene I was squealing like a fool alone in my room. 😂

BTW , 3 K-cultural gestures of affection interpretations: 1) the pat on the back is a gesture of endearment esp in response to a hug. Every western reactor thinks it's weird when seen in a Kdrama but it's a Korean thing (or maybe in other countries too?) 2) Heads up in case u see this in other Kdramas - a pat on the head is also a good gesture & not to be interpreted as condescending lol. (My husband & I pat each other on the head to show affection or approval.) 3) when Koreans say "blow on it" it is like "kiss the boo-boo" in America - it's what is done to wounds of loved ones. (That's why in EAW when the dad stepped on the lego & he was trying to get attention/sympathy from Young-woo, he said "blow on it")

Purple

I know you said the girl lost points with u but u have to keep in mind- this show is not a typical "zombie show". Think back to when covid started - I always related everything that happened in this show to covid times. The "zombies" are just unfortunately infected people who need to survive until there is treatment or cure. (Remember, they do turn back to normal so they are still human, which is what the main couple were trying to say.) Remember when covid first start - decisions had to be made about who would get ventilators and even where to store the bodies (the refrigerated trucks part reminded me of that.) What Han Tae-Seuk says to Yi-Hyun by the trucks really struck a cord with me bc it reminded me of when covid started. But I agree with Yi-Hyun that the infected people are human too & they're just trying to endure - they should be treated humanely if possible, no?

Purple

I like this Han Tae-Seuk character from Happiness but I LOVE his secretary Kim from Goblin!!! (Goblin also happens to be my fav Kdrama of all time!) Side note - his kpop dancing in Goblin & behind the scenes videos are SO CUTE & FUNNY! Love this actor!

Purple

She shoudnt have gone in to begin with. Not only does she intimately know what’s going on, she has the person in charge of containment on speed dial. I get that she’s supposed to be somewhat impulsive and that leads to potential recklessness (pushing him off the roof, charging in to question the infected trainee, unblocking the stairwell door, charging into the freezer truck), but without ever facing consequences it comes off as lazy plot device.

Podcast Fandom Premium

Are we supposed to know who he was there to see? You don’t have to tell me if it’s revealed later.

Podcast Fandom Premium

Are we to assume the pharmaceutical CEO that Tae-seok attacked was the maker of the Advil gel capsules? Rhetorical: why am I just realizing he’s Secretary Kim from Goblin? 😭

Podcast Fandom Premium

nah i’m definitely with saebom and yihyun on this one… i mean this isn’t a typical zombie outbreak where the people completely lose themselves. in this case, they end up going back to a normal state within a few hours so i can see why one might think there’s hope for them and want to treat them in a more humane way instead of shooting them dead at any given chance or keeping them in a refrigerated truck like a pack of sardines. Also that man with the glasses is a hypocrite bc how does he have his wife laying in bed being monitored in a comfortable environment even though she has obviously turned but he doesn’t extend the same kind of treatment for other people? yihyun was right in questioning how he would feel if he was a family to any of the people in there …

ceci

totally agree with you ! They probably didn't catch onto the fact that they aren't actual zombies lmao! It's just a sickness, that's why they are able to turn back into their normal human state (ex: covid, it comes and goes). Therefore, the people that's turning into "zombies," aren't dead, they just get infected (sick). I think that's why the main couple was upset they are treating them like monsters since they were locking them up in the truck, cause in reality, they are still human.

Nina1110

i can tell the other 2 was slightly bored at first but im glad you guys are giving it a good chance sometimes some shows want to focus on building characters a little more so we understand the dynamics and choices more than just the main characters. they all play roles etc

respect

I get it’s for plot, but barging into that apartment given what she knows was stupid.

This show's soundtrack HITS

the ML and FL saw that the infected turned back human after a while and were wondering if they could still be saved because, at the end of the day, they were still humans with families too.

_k.ayl.a_

they took off points from the ML and FL because they didn't get what the two was talking about and why they wanted to expose everything

_k.ayl.a_

Completely agree! especially when you see the infected looking like themselves and having conversations after changing, its obvious its not a typical zombie show

Ala

its also funny to me cause in retrospect this isnt even a "zombie" show, we classify them as zombies cause its a infection that spreads from bites and scratches as they crave blood. (this is also why i believe they focused so much on it mainly spreading from the pills so far, not actual bites and scratches at least at the end of this episode) In the end so far no character has said a thing about zombies even the scientist, cause they really arent, zombies are dead humans that have come back to life but arent coherent. In this case they go into a crazed state but return to human after a certain point. Idk its just so interesting of a concept and made me enjoy and fall in love with the show so much. anyway thanks for the reactions cant wait for more

Yoruka

this show is all about morals and just human's in general and how they will react and act during a pandemic or fucked situation similar to covid, both of the leads ofc dont want the infected running around biting people, they just want them to be treated with appropriate measures, in that truck they are just seen as a horde of dead people to some, but to have the "infected" to be able to speak to you normally after going crazy is to have you question what is the right way to deal with them, think of the way all of us are dead ended with the bomb killing the zombie horde, yes that was the most appropriate measure at the end, but it still resulted in the deaths of people who were once humans, thats why the general offed himself out of guilt. and now we have "zombies" who arent fully zombies, they are still humans in their own right just like how the male lead said they are also fighting to survive, and on the topic of how the scientist treats them yes his morals can also be correct in how he treats them as the monsters they do become, but he is also hypocritical in how he treats his wife differently even though she is just like the ones in the truck, but she is in a disclosed area safely guarded. This topic is what makes happiness so amazing of a show imo as it questions the morals so well. People are both wrong and right in their own opinions but there really isnt a right answer in this situation, but in the minds of the leads they have hope that they can be cured (which the scientist also wants in terms of his wife but has lost that sliver of hope) sorry for the essay lol

Yoruka

Right? The idiot, cheating husband was the one that let her out by leaving all the doors wide open while running from his wife. That is one thing that grinds my gears when i see that happening in shows and movies like this. Like how hard is it to close the damn door when passing through it?

Mikkeai8908

The guy who was walking in the entrance (blue plaid shirt, tan jacket while speaking on a light blue phone) that you said looked familiar is the actor who plays the gangster guy in weak class hero 1. So he made his guest appearance. Lol.

Mikkeai8908

get use to the pat on the back its a big thing in Korea to receive a comforting pat that's why they always do a slow motion on the "HUG/PAT" and its even a bigger deal if someone pats your head and say "you did well"

ciarn

To explain the double eyelid thing: a lot of Koreans and other east-asians have monolids, which is when your eyelid does not have a crease. It's not so common for them to have double eyelids, which is when you can see the crease in the lid (also why he used that to describe her, because its not a common feature). a lot of koreans even get surgeries to get a double eyelid, since it's considered to be a beautiful feature. fun fact: V from BTS is known for having one monolid and one double eyelid.

katsu ne

Lol...it's not $100, it's $100,000 which her partner decided to get by selling the story since he was bitten already and he was hoping his family would at least get something out of his eventual death/change. Saebom definitely is the rash type - they show her being that way all along. Yihyun will just do whatever when it comes to her since he's into her and he 'owes his life' to her. Also, they were arguing that the public should know so they can take appropriate measures...it's kind of reminiscent of COVID-19 I.e. would the outbreak and death toll be less if it wasn't initially downplayed and kept under wraps? Can you just not tell them when you don't have a treatment yet? It's meant to bring up all these questions. Anyhow, good to see you guys responding naturally with what you think because the characters here are flawed - you shouldn't be behind all their actions 100%...but that's what people are like, right? 😉

Flora

The patting is a Korean drama thing. It is supposed to be touching and comforting. It's way better than the statue pose they do in other situations(just standing there with their hands down by their side as the other person hugs them.)

Ezra Mercer

All 3of them are trying to save ppl. It's just they way they intend to save ppl are different. The way I understood it when I watched the series was the glass half empty verses glass half full. Both Saebom & Hyun are looking at it as a glass half full situation, they trying to use the most human way to save everyone (a positive outlook if you will) where as Han Tak is the glass half empty, he is willing to give up his humanity in order to save humanity (negative outlook if you will) Saebom & Hyun want to tell ppl what's happening so that ppl can be a where of what's happening & take precautions even if it causes mass panic then you have Han Tak who wants to prevent mass panic but by doing so he is running the risk of ppl spreading the virus because they have no idea how serious the situation is. Right now all the public knows is a few isolated cases (which is why when Saebom was at the store & the lady asked her why she had so much stuff & Saebom said because of the alert the girl was like, we get those all the time. We can't freak out every time we get one) which shows how ppl aren't taking anything the government is saying serious at the moment. Only once the infected wife was taken did the residents of the apartment complex take it serious. (Example they then went & started buying supplies at the store)

ArisuProtectionSquadLeader

So should saebom have left her in the bathroom so they chat 😭 the idiot is the man who let her out of the apartment. Y'all keep forgetting she's special forces as well, it's her job to go inspect things too, she is still an officer of the law.

Bangtan Insfired

Watching the series with u guys! So exited!

Paola Lopez

I wasn't expecting it today!!!! Thanks

Sonia

I was wondering the same thinggg😭
