I'm wondering if you guys would be willing to try a different kind of show...maybe sacrifice some action for a better story? It seems like between YT and your personal viewings, you guys have seen pretty much all the good stuff that Netflix has to offer...
My recs would be:
(1) The Silent Sea - it's more of a sci-fi thriller that makes you think. The writing is great and YOU GET ANSWERS lol Only 8 eps, less than an hour long. It's also a good topic because the plot revolves around an issue that could become a reality (hopefully not in our lifetime). It has Gong Yoo (Train to Busan) & the gangster guy from Squid Game (total 180!)
(2) Beyond Evil - this is a more traditional k-drama...16 eps being an hour & fifteen+ mins long. It's a "whodunnit" type thriller that is a slow burn....not as much action, but the story is pretty good and has a lot of twists and turns. It has the gangster guy from Squid Game, the mom from Hellbound and also the pervy CEO & bully from Extracurricular (they are sweethearts in this show though).
(3) Snowdrop is on Disney+....it has my favorite actor Jung Hae-in...it's a slightly older period piece - I think the 60s/70s? He plays a North Korean spy trying to infiltrate S. Korea. It's considered romance, but there's more action/drama than there is romance. Also, the main girl is one of the singers from BLACKPINK.
(4) *ETA: Memories of the Alhambra....this one has a good mix of action and story-telling...it is a sci-fi/fantasy type show. A loose summary is that a guy creates a crazy ass video game that starts to spill out into reality. It's also considered "romance" but there's barely any romance in it (a bummer for me)! I think y'all would like this one too.
I know you guys love to predict/guess stuff, so I feel like these would be more up your alley....options 2, 3 & 4 are seemingly long and do have some filler episodes, but it's worth it in the end....they are MILES better than Sweet Home & Extracurricular if you're looking for a good story with good acting.
Also....D.P.! I just know Tobi is gonna cry at least once if y'all watch it lol
