A Modest Proposal
Added 2026-01-30 23:02:22 +0000 UTCHello folks, me again, I promise the next one will actually be a video, however I wanted to flag that I've decided, basically because it feels the right thing to do, to reduce the Patreon monthly subs from £6 to £5.
I use the money you so generously donate to do random shit like buy, as I have today, a bunch of images off Alamy which hopefully makes the videos feel a bit fresh, and buy weird reference books to check my facts, and go and do writing weekends etc. I am very conscious all of this is an immense privilege, and frankly don't want to take the piss.
I've been lucky enough to attract quite a few new members over the past few months, and as a result I can pretty much get what I need from a smaller amount, so like, that's what I'm doing. I know it's only a modest reduction but I hope it helps a bit and if nothing else, indicates that whilst I am delighted to ruthlessly farm views, you guys, who support me, are really important to me and I want to keep that as fair and equitable as I can.
Right....now back to the editing mines....

Other than making this announcement somewhat humorous in an Orwellian sense, it’s doesn’t matter to me. “Your fees have been reduced from $6 dollars down to just $6.91. We hope you enjoy the extra savings.”
