Beautiful Patreon supporters, I thought that you would appreciate this - it's the original report by Orde Wingate following the first Chindit operation - Longcloth - in 1943. It is a work of historical fiction, basically having been created to justify Orde's actions and, he thought when he was writing it, stop him from facing a courts martial. It was sent directly to Churchill by Orde, totally against regulations, and resulted in Wingate going to Canada as part of Churchill's retenue in August 1943 for the Quadrant Conference with the Americans.
I got it copied by the National Archives, something I couldn't have afforded to do without your help, so I thought you might like the reap the benefits of what you've sown. Unfortunatley the NA are not capable of intellegent thought and have turned each page into a JPEG meaning you will probably need to download every image to read it - if that proves to be the case I have uploaded the lot onto a Google Drive here - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gSH_8ezIdvjfeFZnR4y-lOceH9mT5vUM?usp=sharing
Thank you again, and I hope you enjoy reading, and reading between the lines of this, as much as I did. Look out for the moment Wingate claims the Japanese opposition ran away.........something we all know they did all the time.
