Pikachu plush WIP #1: Head and first body test

Hello everybunny! We hope your month started well ^^

After a few days off work to rest, we're back with renewed energies to show you WIPs of our commissions.

Like we said a couple weeks ago, we started working on a Pikachu plush as a reward for someone on the Sherpa tier.
We started with the head pattern. The problem with Pikachu's head is that it's very simple, with the only details being the ears. So it's important to get a good shape fo the pattern to make it recognizable, with those soft cheeks and muzzle.

Hontestly, the first 3 attempts turned out really wrong. We made them just when Niebla and we were overwhelmed.
But this Thursday, with our thoughts more clear, we did another attempt. And we love it! It's got the essence and shape we were looking for. So we drew the face and added paper ears. And we think it already looks beautiful! ^^

With this process we want to remind you how important inspiration and time is for creating plush patterns. It's an artistic process after all, so if you try to do it whenyou're feeling down or blocked, you won't be able to make it, like it happened to us. Take your time, rest, breathe and get back to it with new energies. And we assure you that the effort and patience are worth it!

With the head done, we quickly started with the body. Since it's going to be sitting, we will make the torso and legs first and then add the rest.
We're... Greatly surprised to have gotten such a good looking shape at the first try. Usually, the first test only gives a shapeles base you have to polish. But this time we love it! We want to improve some things, because now it's a bit too wide, specially on the butt, and also a bit short. But the changes are easy to make.

Finally, a couple people have told us that they would like to have Pikachu's pattern. We want to know if it's a pattern you would actually want, so comment on the WIPs if you'd like us to post them as a Minky tier rewar din the near future, please!

Hello everybunny. Esperamos que hayáis tenido un buen comienzo de mes ^^

Después de unos días para descansar, volvemos con energía a traeros nuevos WIPs de nuestros encargos.  

Como os comentamos unas semanas atrás, empezamos a trabajar en un peluche de Pikachu para una recompensa del nivel Sherpa.
Empezamos con el patrón de la cabeza. El problema con la cabeza de Pikachu es que es muy simple, con solo las orejas como detalles. Así que es importante sacar una buena forma de patrón para hacerlo reconocible. Hacerla con esas suaves mejillas y morrito.   

La verdad es que los 3 primeros intentos no nos salieron nada bien. Los hicimos justo cuando lo de Niebla y estábamos saturadas. Solo patronábamos y cosíamos sin pensar bien lo que buscábamos.
Pero este jueves, con la cabeza más despejada, volvimos a intentarlo e hicimos una cuarta prueba. Y nos encanta! Capta toda la esencia y forma que buscábamos. Así que le hicimos el dibujo de la cara y le añadimos las orejas. Y es que así ya creemos que se ve precioso! ^^  

Con este proceso queremos remarcar lo importante que es la inspiración y daros tiempo en la creación de patrones. No deja de ser un proceso artístico, y si lo intentáis con ánimo bajo o bloqueados, no conseguiréis salir adelante, como nos pasaba a nosotras. Daros un tiempo, respirad, y volved a intentarlo con las fuerzas renovadas. Y os aseguramos que el esfuerzo y la paciencia valen la pena!   

Hecha la cabeza, nos pusimos rápidamente a hacer una prueba del cuerpo. Como va a estar sentado, primero haremos lo que es el torso con los muslos y luego añadiremos lo demás.  
Y estamos... Gratamente sorprendidas de haber conseguido una forma tan buena en una primera prueba a ciegas. Normalmente, en la primera prueba sacas una base sin forma y tienes que ir puliendo. Pero esta vez nos gusta muchísimo! Queremos acabar de mejorarlo, porque ahora es algo ancho sobretodo en el culo, y también un poco corto. Pero son cambios fáciles de hacer.  

¿Qué os parece? ¿Os va gustando el resultado?  

Por último, un par de personas nos comentaron que les haría gracia tener el patrón de Pikachu. Queremos saber si de verdad es un patrón que os interesaría, así que comentadnos en los WIPs si os gustaría que lo subiéramos de recompensa del tier Minky en un futuro próximo, porfa!
