But I do think Season 2 is more "palatable" for the average anime watcher. The characters don't annoy you so much since they're all more likable and developed, the grander plot is more explained and some mysteries are answered, plus the goal of the season is more clear and contained. I think that's why most people prefer it. But I do still have a soft spot in my heart for the pure audacity of Re:Zero season 1 with some of it's risky character decisions and lack of any mystery solutions.

Funny enough, you actually didnt need to watch the directors cut Version of the Finale, since all it adds is the scene at the end, which they added into the first part of Season 2 episode 1, since a lot of anime only didn't watch directors cut
