Here's my Mermay for day 11! I wanted to draw a mermaid in the hot springs! I visited Japan several years ago and I really enjoyed seeing the monkeys bathing themselves and relaxing in the hot springs, they were so cute! 🐒
This process went through a lot of stages since I wasn't really happy with the mermaid's pose for the first half of the painting so I changed it up to something more relaxing! I went with a more painterly style for the background to bring attention to the characters!
