Clodsire WIP 6: Big Clodsire test

Today we have what will be the last Clodsire WIP before finishing all the versions and posting the patterns. In the previous post we showed you the small size mochi test, and we saw that it worked perfectly just like with minky. It was actually more cuddly hehehe. So these past days we digitized and resized the patterns for the big one.

Our idea was to make a Clodsire around 50 cm long. We decided this size because it was very big but the embroideries could still fit out biggest hoop. And after printing and cutting the scaled patterns, we worked on a test for this size. Since we don't have much fabric left, we didn't want to make the test with the right colours in case the patterns got deformed too much with the size. It's our first mochi plush so we didn't know how it would work with this size.

So after a full day sewing and about one hour stuffing it, the giant Clodsire test is done. It's the most cuddly and friend shaped thing we've ever seen. It's so fun to squish it all around. Shape wise, we think that it kept it pretty well, both the shapes and proportions. We like it so much ;___;

So today we will start making the final plush, and next week we should be able to post the patterns as a reward.

What do you think? Are you excited to see how it looks like with the face and details?

The only thing we want to add is that we're not 100% sure that we will finally be able to make the spikes/ribs for this plush. We'll make a test with magnets when it's done, but we're worried that since it's so stretchy and soft, it won't be able to hold the removable spikes well. And we don't want to sew them to the plush. But well, you will still have the patterns to make it in two sizes and that work on both fabrics; minky and mochi!

Esperamos que hayáis tenido unos días muy productivos y buenos ^^  

Hoy os traemos el que será el último WIP de Clodsire antes de enseñaroslo 100% terminado y subir sus patrones. En el anterior post os enseñamos la prueba de mochi en tamaño pequeño, y vimos que funcionaba perfectamente como la minky. De hecho es hasta más achuchable jeje. Así que esta semana pasanada nos pusimos a digitalizar y escalar los patrones.   

Nuestro objetivo era hacer un clodsire de unos 50 cm. Decidimos este tamaño porque era bastante grande y óptimo para hacer sus bordados en nuestros bastidores más grandes. Y después de imprimir y recortar los nuevos patrones, nos pusimos a hacer una última prueba final con ese tamaño. Como no tenemos mucha tela de Clodsire, no queríamos arriesgarnos a hacer la prueba grande con la tela buena directamente, por si los patrones se deformaban mucho por su elasticidad. Es la primera vez que trabajamos con tela mochi y no sabíamos cómo se iba a comportar en esas dimensiones. 

Así que después de un día entero cosiendo y como una hora rellenando, ya tenemos nuestra prueba final del clodsire gigante. Es la cosa más achuchable y amistosa que hemos visto nunca. Es súper gracioso zarandearlo y lanzarlo de un lado a otro.  En tema de forma, creemos que ha mantenido muy bien la forma, curvas y proporciones. Nos gusta muchísimo ;___; 

Así que hoy mismo nos pondremos a pasarlo a limpio, y la semana que viene deberíamos poder subiros ya sus patrones de recompensa.  

Qué os parece? Tenéis ganas de ver cómo queda con su carita y detalles??  

Lo único que nos queda por comentar es que no estamos 100% seguras de si podremos finalmente ponerle los pinchos a este peluche. Haremos la prueba con imanes cuando esté terminado, pero nos preocupa que por lo blando y elástico que es, no coja bien las piezas de quita y pon. Y no queremos hacerlos cosidos fijos. Pero bueno, igualmente tendréis el patrón para hacerlo en dos tamaños y que funciona en ambas telas; minky y mochi!
