I hope you had a lovely weekend! For this Mermay, I wanted to do something in my comfort zone to give myself a mini-break from complex backgrounds so I wanted to paint a night sky. I was also inspired by this beautiful quote:

Blues and pinks are some of my favourite colour combinations! I think it's super versatile and I love it because it portrays a dream-like atmosphere!
For the pose, I used Lucia Lerner's illustration as a reference! I think this pose is so cute and I wanted to try it out with this piece! ๐

Hi Sally! Thank you so much! I use a lot of adjustment layers to really change the colours and lighting! For adding quick lighting I set my layer to overlay or Linear Dodge and lower the opacity! I also set the layer mode to multiply for shadows. If you scroll down my patreon posts, I've recently uploaded a process video of my painting process where I explain how I approach painting light and shadows! It should be under "Among Stars - Process video" I hope that helps! ๐
