Here is my drawing for this week's One Hour Drawing Challenge (beard ver.).
The subjects were,
Magician (wizard, sorcerer), or graveyard keeper
due to Halloween. I picked up "Magician" and here is my drawing.
I'm going to post it prior to the deadline.
The sorcerer in "Alladin and the magic lamp". The one pretended Alladin's uncle (his late father's brother) and asked him to pick up the magic lamp.
Anyway, drawing this image, I found out some facts about "Alladin" I didn't know before.
1) Now it is not regarded as a part of "One Thousand and One Night".
2) It would possibly be a story written by a French orientalist and archaeologist, Antoine Galland, in 17-18c.
3) In the story by Galland, Alladin is a boy living in China.
I'm not sure but it would be due to those issues, all of the costumes of the Alladin's sorcerer in the historical illustration so far I found out seems not specific ones. It's like a vague combination of ancient Persian, medieval Turkish, and Kurdish cloths.
Therefore, I mocked up something "Alladin" like costume for him.
VOILA!
