Finally sat down to watch this, and I am actually really glad I went into it blind because it was so much more gory than I expected! Definitely a one time watch for me.
Also, I definitely said, bless you when you sneezed and then realized that you couldn’t hear me. 😂

This was wild but I liked it and how it dealt with society's views on beauty . I'm glad that u can now see people of all shapes diff looks do things like model and its the norm now.

So I had never watched this before and I knew nothing about it…we went just went on a over 2 hour journey together that’s what I’m going to call it…🤯. I had to stop myself from picking up my phone and looking up the plot because the whole time I’m like yeah this isn’t going to go well but also what isn’t going to go well and uh can confirm I didn’t need to know (I did for my own curiosity but at the same time the last time I was this disturbed after watching a horror film was when I watched The Farm…if you know you know). I don’t know how to feel yet 😂😭😯

Love this movie. The message was clear but told in a very raw and intuitive way. Did not feel like lecturing or propaganda at all. Even the more on the nose parts like the producer telling her "pretty girls should always smile" are totally fine with me because the charm of the rest of the movie gets you there. This is an example of a message about society done extraordinarily well. The story forces you to empathize through creative horror design that seems like something out of a horror comic or old depictions of hell. Very well done.

The industry created the monster.
I really wanted to watch this movie. I'm glad we got to watch it together. It was comforting watching it with you. 😅

LOL the score at 2:02:28 is from alfred hitchcock’s vertigo! (which if you’ve seen the film is a very deliberate choice)

Now I've watched it...and this is one of the most amazing movies I've seen since...maybe ever. It was so well made; fantastic cinematography, top notch acting, good theme, fresh writing, I had no idea how it would resolve. Are we certain the ending wasn't directed by GWAR? Lol. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Two thumbs up for this one. (Shout out also for a movie so off-the-wall, it turned Caitlin into Cornholio, twice!)

I also appreciated that aspect of her final form, like she had tits and ass from every angle what are they complaining about 😂

Btw Sue is played by THE Margaret! The one that's Jack Antonoff's wife and the one Lana Del Rey made a song about!

Sometimes I wish movies like this had a more positive outcome. And I know that’s the point. How cruel the double standards are and how it literally destroys her to just be famous…. But in the era of the smile movies and such. It seems like every movie with a point has to end in such a depressing manor. I kind of wish some of these would end more positively. It touches on such strong issues. It’d be nice to see the characters over come the issues. Like maybe Sue comes on the screen at the end and says “fuck these standards.” And somehow brings our Lizzie with her and they both just like tear it up? I know it wouldn’t be the same body horror type movie. But damn. Getting tired of these hopeless ass movies that make it seem like these really relatable issues are impossible to over come.

Fun fact: in case you didn’t know, Margaret Qualley, who played Sue, is Jack Antonoff’s wife!

This is a masterpiece. That little girl in the audience being a Sue fan says so much, from a young age she is being taught to look flawless, perfect and allow her body to be exploited. Monstro Elisue vomiting up that boob was a mockery to the audience, you wanted boobs?! Well here it is!

You know the worst part is that her consciousness was never split, she just hated herself so much that she was constantly in denial about what she's doing, when she was binge eating it felt good when she was in the old body but then when she entered the new body she was mad even tho she decided to do it, she kept taking the life out of herself because she didn't care about her real body, I mean she left it on the floor from the beginning... sarcastic since in her show she kept saying "take care of yourself" so yeah she wanted herself to split in two different people to cleanse herself from the bad decisions she kept choosing but it was just her all along
