I don’t have a problem with the many variants. I just don’t buy them and wait until I have a tiktok I can download with the song lol (LOVE the live versions of Peter and how did it end). I think it’s smart from her & what I'm seeing many artist do it now that there are exclusive songs, so that more people actually buy the albums

2024-08-12 05:18:22 +0000 UTCI personally feel like, if she just released the memos and acoustic versions as single songs, like she used to more often, then more people would (and could) buy all of them. I, and a lot of her fans, don't have the money to justify spending $6 on 20 versions of the same album with one song difference. At this point, the sale tactics are very much giving me an icky feeling.

I don’t feel the need to buy every single version of everything, but she has to know that she has a large number of insane fans who absolutely will want to. I feel like she could just release things like this for free for the fans - everyone will then go and stream the studio version to check for differences so she’ll get the additional streaming numbers 🤣

I’ve always thought that she does 95% of the writing and will credit someone as a co-writer if they change one word or one line in a song. This should stop the “she doesn’t REALLY write her own songs” brigade…but it won’t! I love the production on who’s afraid and I do think it really takes the song to another level - I’m glad she decided to do the full scream from the first chorus!

2024-08-10 19:35:06 +0000 UTCAs someone who doesn’t have the option or funds to buy CD’s and vinyl’s regularly, I can appreciate a little bit the excess of releases of physical variants, it gives people, including me, a chance to buy the album months later because they unfortunately missed out on the first batch of sales at the beginning, but I do understand the frustration of having like 50 different variants, it’s just not necessary when it’s already a 31 song album. Great video by the way! I wouldn’t have gotten to listen to the memos without this. :)

I bought every version of the folklore cover but know I’m like that’s so unnecessary.

2024-08-10 14:49:41 +0000 UTCi understand that people may not like the multiple drops due to it feeling like she just wants money which i can 100% see how it comes across that way and to some extent agree however im not here for the people who hate it because they feel as if shes blocking lther artists. i dont think that she should have to change the roll out of her album or stop making new versions to cater to other artists like this isnt a charity and again if a voice memo is selling out your entire album then maybe thats a them issue not a taylor issue. like footballers are never hated on for not loosing to let the other team get a chance so idk i see it both ways

2024-08-10 14:25:56 +0000 UTCAs a swiftie for a very very very long time I whole heartedly agree with the multiple versions, however I understand adding them one at a time only because of the discounted perspective. The digital albums with the memos are being sold at a very low rate ($6 and below) and while it is manipulative for chart tactics, I think it’s good for the attentiveness of fans and to keep the momentum up. Ultimately the girl is competing with the greats who sold endless compilation and greatest hits albums and this just happens to be the modern equivalent (at least the conclusion I’ve come to). Greatest hits and compilations just do not work in the steaming era so if Taylor wants to compete with the all time greats, releasing variations on a weekly basis for litttle money is the best route she can take (in my opinion) it’s gotten her 14 weeks at number one and I don’t think it’s too many “variations” however the memos should be sold in lonesome and not in a complete album (or added to the deluxe like with red and other albums)
