Thanks for doing this - no one would go see this with me in theaters and I knew I would be too scared to sit through it alone. Watching it along with your reaction was a perfect compromise! You do such a good job of commentating/speculating as well as responding in the moment - I don't feel so stupid jumping or shielding my face when you're reacting similarly. Although I had to totally skip the bit in the beginning with the kangaroo - animals being hurt in movies is a hard line for me. Otherwise, I really appreciate being able to experience the movie as if I was watching with a buddy. You're the best! <3

I'm tickled that you did this film. The Philippou brothers are amazing. Check out their YouTube channel RackaRacka! These boys have made some amazing stuff for young content creators figuring it out on their own. The Harry Potter-Star Wars fight scene is one of my favorites. It's great that one of their first major films was in the horror genre. These boys are gonna be heavy contenders if they keep this up. Loved your reaction. From my understanding the spirit mother was not her real mother. They were trying to trick her into killing Riley so they could feast on his soul. She killed herself to take his place. But either way, awesome reaction. Can't wait for your October lineup!!! LezGOOO!!!!

This is probably the first time in a long time that i've enjoyed a movie. I'm pretty dense when it comes to metaphors. I watched a small review/summary that explained the drug aspect but left out spoilers. You picked up on the metaphor by the 3rd party. okaaay this one really surprised me! all of my friends kept talking about how good this movie was and they were right! and i also feel like i could talk about this movie for a hour. anyway, really good movie, it's so refreshing to see old ideas (dumb teens playing with evil forces) being used so creatively (the drug allegory, the hand detail), this doesn't happen often.

I was super excited to watch this one since the first trailer and went to the Theaters to see it once it came out. It was mesmerizing how good it is. The acting is amazing, all the physicality of it, the relationships etc were really "real" and super cool. It gave me Hereditary vibes mixed with It Follows vibes. It was not scary per se but a really really good psychological with a bit of gore horror that makes you anxious and on the edge of your seat the whole time.

I love the ideas behind horror movies. Even if we get completely desensitized to the scares the stories are always so creative. I would also recommend Ouija 1 and 2 if you haven’t seen it. Great reaction!

There’s always one horror movie every year where I just don’t understand the hype 😢. Still looking forward to the sequel though because I really loved the premise.

Her poor dad is gonna need so much therapy lol I loved this movie <3 I think it's the, like, uncanny valley thing that give it that slight Smile feel, like things that look human that you know aren't human. I think it was her mom for just that very first moment with Riley but I think afterwards when she like called out to her herself I think from then on it was an imposter trying to manipulate her, the same manipulation crap was happening with the guy in the opening sequence. I think the little girl and the moment where she sees Riley being tortured I think that was all manipulation, but I think arguments can be made to the contrary. I really like that there really aren't a lot of clear answers in this movie, I've missed that in modern horror

Great Great flick!! So happy to see you watch this one! Not sure how you'd feel about it, but sometime in the future, I think it'd be cool to see what you think of the V/H/S franchise! A series of found footage horror anthology movies with a ton of different ways it's filmed to fit that format. Since you mention found footage being arguably your favorite subgenre of horror, I think it'd be worth looking into since they're still making movies to this day.

When I first saw this movie I was TERRIFIED, it is one of the craziest and most insane movies i've seen in a long time. The scariest part was how gory it was, not the whole talking part. But they did confirm a second movie already so i'm excited to see how that one plays out, especially with how this one ended.
