Hereditary - Movie Reaction

Hereditary - Movie Reaction

Comments

The Charlie death scene and following grief is an entire experience unto itself. It's like snuck into a 2+hour film is the most heartbreaking, gut wrenching storytelling I think I've ever scene in all of about 15-20 minutes. Didn't need anything else but "Mom, I'm going to a party", "take your sister".... that was the horror of hereditary for me, personally. (I was like, why is there more movie...? You've done it all)

Xinef Afriam

I NEED you to watch The Lovely Bones. I think you’d like it

mentallyunw3ll

Please add prom night (2008) to the list !

Anna Banana

Agreed! There is a whole bloody-gory orgy they had to end up leaving out of the film! Apparently it traumatized some of the extra and actors and it didn't even make it in the movie except for a few seconds of it.

Raj Hudek

As the newest subscriber clearly I should be in charge of this decision lol

JSmoak

I realize that is a little cryptic. Movie is called Event Horizon with Sam Neill and Lawrence Fishburne. Extremely scary.

JSmoak

Two words... Event Horizon... epic

JSmoak

Please for the love of god watch the Void!! Such an underrated movie, amazing effects and such creepy vibes!

Aaron Garcia

PLEASE WATCH THE EXORCIST. GREATEST HORROR MOVIE OF ALL TIME!!!

Daniel Smith

Just finished watching your reaction. Hands down my favorite reaction of yours yet! There is a ton of lore in this movie and hidden symbolism everywhere as is the case with all Ari Aster films. It's very heavy-handed with Occult themes and this movie was centered around a satanic group that tries and succeeds in bringing the demon King Paimon to Earth. There are some really great break downs of the movie online but essentially None of the death in the movie is an accident. It's all leading up to Peter becoming Paimon. It's why she couldn't have a miscarriage with him. There's so much more but I'm already long-winded with my posts as it is. Just happy we finally got to see your reaction to it! Thanks for that and congratulations on 50 K!

Raj Hudek

Ari Aster in all his delicious horror-directing glory! Ever since you watched Midsommar I didn't think you'd bring yourself to watch this! Super stoked! I just started it and you took a shot. You're gonna need a few more of those buddy! LOL

Raj Hudek

Toni Collette should have gotten an Oscar for that one scene alone! That was the most realistic scene of someone mourning their child. It makes you feel physically ill. Amazing acting 👏🏼👏🏼

Ally

Good suggestion

Caleb

I loved everything but the animated/floating bodies, I think it they hadn't included those, even with the cult shit it could have still had the element of "is this supernatural or mental illness" and I LOVE not having answers to that question in scary movies. This one's so disturbing and intense and I love it so much lol thanks for watching it with us 😊

Meghan Blust

if you haven't already, do you think you could check out any of jordan Peele's horror movies? they are so good.

The Gamer's Club

Loved the reaction! One of the scariest horror movies ever. Please react to titanic rising by Weyes blood, you will love it, it’s so beautiful!

Daniel

omg this was amazing to watch with you! i always wanted to watch it but i was scared to on my own so having a lil friend to watch it with was so comforting! Congrats on 50k!! excited for the next movie aahhhhh xx

Nika

i looooved the first 3/4 of the movie. it was great and very realistic in a way that it could've been her mental illness/sleepwalking doing all the weird things(like unburying her mom, watch her son sleeps/tryna pull his head, etc) im very disappointed that the very last 20 some minutes all had to do with supernatural things. seeing the mom float in the air, headless it just took all the emotions, fear and uneasy feeling away. They should've made it seem like yea she put the book in the fire and then the husband burn, but then show us in the end a flashback or something to show that it was her sleepwalking doing those things, leading by her thought of her mom's cult or something and then leading her son to actually jump out the window and dying, then we should've seen her in an psychiatric home at the end while her entire family is dead.

alex

Yeah it turned into a typical horror movie by the end of it. I still enjoyed it , but it would’ve been interesting if it was more psychological and less supernatural. Sort of like The Babadook

Henri J. Mertens

The horror in this movie really shines through with those feelings of grief, despair, and depression. The dinner table sequence is arguably the scariest because of how realistic and horrifying that conversation goes as they all try to grasp with what happened. Then, the other scare (her being in the corner of the bedroom) is so good because it’s more of a viewer realization than it being thrown at you. It’s so easy to miss because it’s so subtle but those are the best scares. Such an awesome reaction and congrats on 50k!

iMiller21

“if this glass moves, I’ll delete my channel” had to take a two minute laughing break

restlessmodem

Most probably disagree but I thought Midsommar was better than Hereditary. For me Hereditary was at its best when it was a family drama about grief and mental illness. It lost me when it got to cults enchanting utility poles to cut off heads.

Caleb

A fantastic movie, but its also one of the most miserable movies ive ever seen. That first hour is devastatingly sad and unbelievably miserable. Toni Collette is truly incredible throughout.

Taylor

I missed you Caitlin! 🫶🏻

Greatest horror of the past 10 years, can’t wait to watch with you

Andrew Hicks

this movie left me scarred, but can we just talk about Toni Collette and her brilliant acting

yourdearplant

Congratulations on 50k!

Caleb

Alex Wolff actually dislocated his jaw while filming the head banging on the desk 🫣

Henri J. Mertens

The shot of her crying on the floor and then immediately showing her crying at the funeral is the saddest thing ever. A lot of people walked out my theater during that scene.

Henri J. Mertens

*insert Toni Collette was snubbed comment here* no but in all seriousness the absolute haunting screams, cries and wails after "that" scene still make me physically sick hearing it. It's a damn shame Toni never got any recognition from the academy for it but the Oscars tend to not have the best relationship with horror movies besides a few exceptions of course

Robbie Corrie

i look foward to these every week! you saved my night! thank you caitlin!

Captain Astro

I'M SO READY

Rania

I have been waiting for this for so long!

SchitzophrenicSynapse

Aodhan McWilliams

lmaooooo

Caitlin Marie

i’m not surprised to hear that because Midsommar is the exact same way. but i also had the PLEASURE of rewatching this movie while editing so i did catch a few things here and there

Caitlin Marie

yeah, i didn’t even catch until my like fourth time watching the scene, shes sooooo hidden. it totally explains the crawl/fly moment tho 😂 but if you miss it there, you just get to have the same reveal in the living room scene anyway so it’s whatever lol

Caitlin Marie

eric

Are you aware of the scene you missed?

Nick of Time

really enjoyed this reaction, you should definetly check out a youtube video explaining this movie for things you might have missed/not understood, you will appreciate it so so much more trust me, it all makes sense, ari aster might be a sick man but he is a genius xD (would be cool to see this on the patreon, but u should check it out either way)

Aodhan McWilliams

Caitlin Marie

It’s funny how The Ring is only PG-13 but that’s the one I think will freak out Caitlin the most

Henri J. Mertens

I don't understand why ppl don't tell reactors to watch this movie in the dark. They frequently miss the best scene in the movie. Congrats on 50k tho!!

Nick of Time

Gyuuuuuuhhhhh… this movie is soooo rough… good… but SO ROUGH!
