Also, when he says "this town's for the record now the intersection got a target and they're calling it downtown, it's a reference to the ONLY target in VT and how no one considered that area "downtown" until target arrived. His writing will forever amaze me.

This is the first album in my lifetime where I listen to the whole album with no skips. It hits me in my feels hard as I can relate so personally to a lot of these songs and never get tired of it. Lots of tears shed with this one.

2023-06-26 04:49:59 +0000 UTCThis album has such a "For Emma, Forever Ago" feel about it, almost like Noah is in a cabin in Vermont, simultaneously at home and adrift, both unsettling. And occasionally Father John Misty seemingly drops by to lend vocals. Noah really needs a dose of Talking Heads "This Must Be the Place (Naive Melody)," which is such a great comfort song about finding mental, emotional, romantic 'home.' Really enjoyed experiencing this album for the first time with you and hope to see more of this genre here.

I honestly think this will be one of those albums i’ll still remember and love in 50 years

2023-06-22 02:19:53 +0000 UTCFinally had time to watch this all the way through, and I've gotta say that since you felt this and you're into Black Country, New Road a little bit, I'm just going to say again that you've GOTTA check out Sigur Rós from Iceland. Their 1999 album, "Ágætis byrjun" ("A Good Beginning" in English) is right up your alley. I think everyone here would enjoy that one especially. And it's very happy/optimistic/transcendental

I bet if you did an “I hate him” counter you would surpass 50 times. 🤣 And I honestly think he’d love that. Thanks for sharing this with us! I know it was a long and heavy one to get through. So glad you get to continue to enjoy his music. This has become one of my favorite albums of all time.
