This album is a perfect example of how a talented artist can be ruined by bad production and cringe writing. When it’s stripped back and honest with songs like Lightweight, Give Your Heart A Break, Skyscraper it hits because Demi is good but when it misses it’s painful. Thankfully this issue was resolved in later albums.

I didn't know this album was so hated on, wow, that upsets me lmao. It was definitely a very different sound/era but it made sense back then, there were 2 years in between hwga and this and a lot of stuff happened in between that I wasn't surprised it had a different sound. and it was right after/during a bad time so i think demi wanted to have some fun songs you can dance to but then it also got the emotional, more personal songs to connect to. Maybe the r'n'b/dance pop sound threw people off idk but i thought they were bops and always enjoyed them too even though i prefer the rock sound. My favourites still are my love's like a star, in real life, skyscraper and for the love of a daughter. Who's that boy is my jam tho, sad to see it's not appreciated haha

Also omg Caitlin I can’t believe I forgot. So Demi actually wrote For The Love of a Daughter for the Here We Go Again album but Disney wouldn’t let her put it out at the time because it was too mature. Can you please react to this version of the song (it’s like a rock version, just like the album, just as sad as the one on Unbroken). She changed and updated the lyrics on the version for the Unbroken album but this song is so good by itself in its original rock version.

I think part of the reason some songs on here just aren’t it is that you can tell Demi didn’t write them. It doesn’t feel like Demi, it just feels more like generic pop that was kind of thrown at her and she agreed to put some vocals on it. It’s crazy how different a song can hit when you know someone wrote it. Like it feels so much more authentic and real.

I kinda like this album. Not their best maybe although the last song is amazing and heartbreaking! I'm down with you doing a video of both the Demi album and a video of your songs on Itunes.

Demi’s My Love Is Like A Star live performances are insane! They always added new high notes and runs! You should check out this one if you get a chance. I honestly prefer the live version over the studio version https://youtu.be/bTeEWp_6rks

Fun fact: My Love is Like a Star was written for Demi’s fans! They understood that many of their fans related to them and their struggles in life, so they wrote that song to signify that there was always someone in their corner and to never give up.
I like the idea of a music video reaction for the Demi album, maybe even a ranking of the album even though it might be tough and you know all the songs!
After seeing your reaction to FTLOAD, I can’t wait for you to listen to a song called ‘Father’ that’s on Confident😃
My personal favs off this album, having listened to it for years upon years, are Lightweight and In Real Life <3

I'd love a listening party for the Demi album - it's one of my fave albums from them, and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

This album is really at it's best in the more emotional moments. It's not Demi's best album by any means, but I still think it's an incredibly important part of their discography. It's got some low lows, but I think the high highs more than make up for the low points that we get early on.
I like the idea of watching the music videos and live performances for the next album since you already know all of the songs. Demi's live performances are always incredible, so I think it would definitely be a cool way to change things up for a project that you already know.

Also have you thought of doing movie watch parties? I saw a another patreon person Michael Beverragi doing it. It is interesting.

So happy you are doing more albums lately. Yes it just makes you appreciate the genius of Taylor writing songs herself when you see multiple writers on songs
