【Silver】Easy to draw hands with mittens

In this article, I've compiled a detailed explanation of drawing hands using mitten-shaped auxiliary lines and how to apply them!

Remember the shape of the auxiliary lines!

Before actually drawing with auxiliary lines, it is recommended that you know the shape of the auxiliary lines well so you are less likely to get lost! Know the proportions as well as the silhouette!

The thumb joint should be about 1:1:2 ratio from the fingertip, and the middle finger should be about 3 thumb tips long around the middle finger.

For this mitten-shaped auxiliary line, the fingertips are in position. Note that if you position at the fingertips, you end up with six fingers!

Make sure you learn to use the auxiliary lines properly so you don't use them incorrectly!

Let's make some fingers independent!

If all the fingers are still attached, they cannot be used for pointing poses or other molds, so a slight modification is required.

Draw a center line for each independent finger. This will make it easier to distinguish them from the fingers that are grouped together, and will also make the fingertips easier to recognize.

For cohesive fingers, draw a dividing line: one for two fingers and two for three fingers. The specs change from the regular mitten shape, so make sure you don't mix them up!

When drawing a dividing line, is at the fingertip. The reason why the center line is not drawn on each of the fingers is that the lines would be too dense and difficult to understand.

Some beginners may think that mitten-type is too difficult...! For those people, we recommend the method shown in the figure below.

You can draw more deftly if you use auxiliary lines that match your level of skill, so it's a good idea to experiment with different shapes to find the right auxiliary lines for you!

My thoughts on actually using them!

The advantage of the mitten type is that it captures the fingers together to some extent, so once you learn it, you can draw the auxiliary lines themselves with ease!

Compared to other auxiliary lines, I feel there is less to worry about. I felt that if I only paid attention to the proportions of the border and center line, the shape would be less prone to collapse!

I urge you all to take advantage of these mitten-shaped auxiliary lines!

So the summary of today's article is: ・Remember the shape of the stroke ・If you are a beginner, try drawing from a flat stroke!

Stay tuned for future posts~
