Progress Update - Panels Are Finished!
Added 2021-10-15 23:58:25 +0000 UTCYep, all the acoustic panels are built, filled, and beautifully covered!
Now all that's left is mounting them to my studio walls, which is trickier than it sounds; it's not at all like hanging a mirror or picture frame. In a nutshell, air must be able to move freely behind each panel to work correctly. Not only that but each one of these is ~30 lbs (~14kg). Here's an example panel:
I'm using metal french cleats and 2x2 furring strips on the wall with toggle bolts in drywall and heavy-duty screws into the studs on the top and bottom of each panel. In layman's terms, this bitch is secure AF!
