Honestly Connor I feel you. You become more selective in playing games you can't turn off your brain like you used to when your were younger. You just can't get into the zone anymore. Though I will say if you ever feel bored with playing games that seem cliche and or repetitive. Try out the Boktai series its a gameboy trilogy created by kojima prouctions which is about a vampire hunter trying to kill the vampire that 86'd his dad. What makes this series unique is that you have to go outside to power your weapons using actual sunlight. There's also Spectrobes which is Disney's take on making their own Pokémon. What makes this game different though is that it feels like your playing through a starwars esquie setting.

The captivating part of content creation is that it's where you, supposedly, can achieve the mythical standard of working with what you love and the way you want while also having fun. "First world problems" are like hotel scrambled eggs: an excuse to make the middle class feel they reached peak. The truth is that everyone is trying to find their way to said standard, it doesn't what is your career, a worker that stops working gets their right to live denied like a slave. Meanwhile, those who truly achieved that standard are living in the Wall-E world already, which isn't failure, but the greatest fantasy of the reptilian brain. The true problem is the success of humanity as species. And on parasocial stuff; your brain cannot distinguish between what's real and what's not, that's why people get scared watching horror movies. The same effect happens with online interactions, that's the source parasociality. It becomes pathological when delusions and/or fixations are involved. When people mention that times are changing, it's more about the acceptance of our hidden traits, and then it's about what we do as consequence.
