We scan everyone's signatures to print our client Christmas cards so we don't have to sign them 100+ times. He did not know how to sign his name. Let me say that again...he did NOT KNOW how to sign his name. WTF? He could print block letters but it looked like a child's printing - straight but primitive. Its like that on his drivers license. He barely writes anything and uses his phone for everything. He literally cannot function without his phone. This guy is smart, was top of his class and is very put together. He is not dyslexic. I can only assume he grew up privileged with helicopter parents because there is so much practical stuff he doesn't know how to do. This was just the most shocking thing so far. Our office manager, an older woman with serious mom energy, told him a printed signature was not going to work. She showed him our other team members signatures (he was somehow blown away by that??) and gave him the A-B-C cursive chart to practice. He managed an acceptable signature for the print order, but I am floored. How do you live 23 years and not know what a signature is?
