One quick note, the reason you kept getting matched against the same players was because you were staying in the same casual lobby. Readying up is locking in a rematch with those players if you are in casual mode. also yeah the game is really difficult, I've played thousands of hours and I still feel like I can't hit the ball half the time lmao
