2024-10-12 09:07:42 +0000 UTCFor the longest time now, the big problem on why people didn't like fighting games was because the inputs were too long/hard and it took forever to see the cool stuff. Because of this, vids involving fighting games from people who don't play fighting games end up being the same structure: It may be exciting at first, seeing your favorite influencers trying something out and seeing the potential in the first 5 minutes, but grows boring quickly afterwards as they just mash buttons. I was hoping that with Modern controls being introduced into fighting games now, that ol' song & dance would be over, and more people would see the actual cool stuff easily; maybe be more interested in learning the game. Lo and behold, when the game practically hands them a convenient way to see all the cool stuff, those players now dismiss it as "baby mode" while they continue to struggle doing special moves. As fun as this may have looked and how much fun they had with zippy-zappy Victor especially, it is a good indicator on why modern control schemes will not catch on like developers intended to: pride.

2024-10-12 01:44:19 +0000 UTCI have a suggestion what I think may make a good Patreon Episode since you guys do not really have deep knowledge about the FGC. FGC has lot of slangs (many very funny even) and there is this website (https://glossary.infil.net/) that has almost all Lingo and slangs and catalogued and even sorted by specific games. I think it might make a funny episode to do a Quiz of guess what X slang means. For example Could start easy with things like what is a "whiff" and then goes to what does a "Canadian Burst", "Happy Birthday" or "Double Luigi" mean. Maybe if it's too hard a Multipile choice question format with a picture of a move and the correct option would be something like "Mexican Uppercut" or "sexkick". and then after every question show the explanation on the glossary explain it to the bois.
