Getting to the middle of May now featuring the fabulous St.Merrique. She and I go way back together and work together regularly, once a month if we both have the time. Most of the time we shoot remotely, but on this occasion, she traveled to Las Vegas and did a few shoots around town. We shot this series at Calico Basin. For those of you not familiar with Vegas, Calico Basin is a park on the west side of town, right next to Red Rock State Park. It may be an extension of Red Rock (I'm not exactly sure). I don't particularly like shooting in Calico Basin, because it's very crowded, even early in the morning. You have to be very watchful of onlookers hiking down the trail. We had a few people stop by and look during the shoot but didn't have any trouble (we were lucky). We tried to get off the main trail as much as possible. Just a word of caution. The trail is used by school kids and a lot of hikers.
On with the story. Merrique had died her hair in anticipation of her wedding and had pretty much "fried it" (her words). It was certainly straw-like and very brittle. It has since recovered, and I don't think she'll ever do that again. LOL Please enjoy this set with Merrique, and if you get to Vegas and want to hire and shoot a model, I don't recommend going to Calico Basin unless you go very early in the morning and plan on hiking a bit and getting off the main trail. As an aside, we weren't out of the car 5 minutes and ran into a snake on the trail, so beware of that as well. A typical desert adventure with a beautiful nude woman.
As always thank you very much for your continued support. I appreciate it very much.
