Minor Change of Plans

I got about 400 words in and realized it felt too tell vs show and that a lot of the information was going to get conveyed in the next chapter where Oliver is looking at her online presence and streams. Thought it was a good idea but nah, I’ll get started on the next one.

Haven’t you already read some of my outlines by now? I thought I’d talked to you about them but must be misremembering. I usually have outlines yes but this entire current in-story day has followed them much, much looser than usual (and I don’t even follow them super strict to begin with) since I was actively getting used to writing Zoe and things got shuffled around or didn’t make sense with how she was turning out. I’m a mix of a thorough planner and someone who adjusts. Depends, though. 66 had no outline other than ‘lewd’ lol.

2024-03-31 02:32:25 +0000 UTCI'm curious of your writing process. Do you sit down and create a detailed outline and follow it closely as you write each chapter? Or do you have a loose skeleton of a plan and adjust quickly? I've heard of both methods, and some successful authors do each. When I write I get an idea rolling around in my head and I just sit down and start writing. But my goal is not to be an author, it's to quiet my mind.
