R'nirnon/Rin Character Bio

R'nirnon 'Rin'

43, Ir'athrid female, servant of Emlaalth'kir, former enforcer

Appearance- Rin's default appearance is her hybrid form. She looks like a young, fiery woman in her early twenties and often has an annoyed expression on her face. Her skin is a dull, rusty red color, with her face, neck and torso being a lighter tan color near skin tone. Dark red spots appear on her cheeks, resembling freckles She has dark red ringed spots across her body. Four moist and dripping tentacles come out of her back, and they are often dripping. Her hair is made of tentacles- dark red with gold/orange tips and with darker red spots running throughout. Rin often wears her hair in a long ponytail. Her eyes are greenish blue and she has octopus pupils. For ears, Rin has a three-pronged fin on each side of her head.

Her body is athletic. Firm, C cup breasts, a tight ass. She is a very physical member of her species, and it shows. Somewhat of a rarity, as they tend to focus more on magic and intellectual pursuits.

She has a true Ir'athrid form which features more tentacles and an octopus-like face. On rarer occasions she also takes on a human form which has no major differences to speak of. It's just her hybrid form but without all of the monster features and she has a tanned skin tone.

Personality- serious, aggressive, standoffish, dedicated, loyal

Abilities- Rin is as stated more of a physical fighter but still possesses a decent skill in magic and psychic abilities. Rin's specialty with psychic powers is mentally inflicting fear upon others as befitting her previous vocation. Her skill with commanding her tentacles is top-notch and she's able to use them like additional arms.

Motivation- at the start of the story, Rin is dedicated only to Lady Emlaalth'kir and wishes nothing more than to help raise her into a true god. She has spent years of her life caring for the young lady Emla and is deeply attached to her on what she feels is an inappropriate level. Not romantic specifically but in the sense that her race are supposed to be servants of the outer gods yet Emla treated her more as a friend and she views this as improper.

As the story continues, Rin will loosen up a bit and her motivation widens to support the protagonist in building lady Emla's cult. She will also be motivated to produce many children through him for this very goal and she will awaken motherly instincts and enjoy helping look after the monstrous progeny of her growing family.

Interests- Rin does not have many interests as her culture is one that punishes individuality and self-expression, but truth be told, she enjoys physical activities such as fighting. It also her job to provide food for lady Emla, and she enjoys hunting and fishing to accomplish this. Defeating Emla's enemies is also a favorite activity of hers.

I would also like her to have a hobby eventually, as more humans joining the cult will lead to more exposure and it would be nice if she picks something up along the way.

History- Rin was spawned in pod eight in the ir'athrid city of Ghidhr'la, located off the coast of Drerland. Not sisters, but was born in the same pod as Nia. The two never cared much for each other as they were opposites in many ways but aside from a few scuffles they kept it to themselves since interpersonal relationships weren't tolerated during their schooling years. Separated after general education, 12 years old, when they were moved to different specialty programs and Rin began training to become an enforcer as per the order of the overseers.

Enforcers are ir'athrids chosen for their abilities in combat- be they physical, magical, or mental. They are the pawns of infiltrators, the mindflayers chosen to blend in with Karnallian society and assimilate positions of influence. When given an order by their superior, they will assassinate targets, arrange unfortunate accidents, or mind break them without the infiltrator having to risk losing their cover.

Rin was an enforcer from the the ages of 16 to 25, and in that time she'd killed her fair share of humans and thought little of it. She has neither good memories nor bad ones from this period of her life. She was fully prepared to live the rest of her life as a tool to further the cause of her species, even if she still harbored personal doubts about the point of it all.

Everything changed for Rin when Emlaalth'kir came into being, as the newborn lowly one psychically called out for protectors and servants-resonating with Rin and Nia, ironically. The two were given permission to leave their respective careers and then made their way to the source of their claiming, a black palace beneath a random lake in Drerland. Both girls weren't happy to have the greatest moment of their life shared by a childhood rival, but the two soon decided on a truce when first laying eyes on their charge.

There was a lot of trial and error the first few years as Emla grew. She was a demanding child but full of love. Nia saw to her personal needs while Rin took on the role of provider, leaving the palace to bring home the high amount of food required to keep Emla going. There have also been times when Rin and even Nia had to go out and eliminate other lowly ones or kin who caught wind of Emla for one reason or another and came sniffing around in the hopes of thinning the competition.

Over the years, Rin would start pushing the need to develop an actual plan for Emla's development. Funny anecdote, but it would be amusing to me if the ruined town on the lake wasn't actually a ruined town and was Rin's attempt at building one in preparation for Emla's future followers.

The young lady Emla changed the pair of ir'athrids significantly the longer they stayed together. It's common for there to be a degree of psychic imprinting and for servants to take on traits of their master, but Emla is a very strange being. She is full of love, even for humans which is a drastic shakeup from everything Rin was taught. While she has not fully accepted these parts of her master by the time the story is started, she will slowly grow as a person the more she interacts with the protagonist and the more humans enter the cult. In time, she will regard humans positively and as more than tools to further her lady's agenda- but will still have a ruthless persona when it comes to humans she doesn't care anything about.

Another aspect that Emla will have rubbed off on her is the motherly side she will develop. Emla is a fertility deity and personifies motherhood, so when Rin actually starts having babies through the protagonist, this dormant side of her will flourish. She would be a fearsome mother- extremely defensive, vigilant, and would try to raise the children to be strong.

As for the protagonist, Rin is vehemently against him at first. She has always been against the idea of Emla having one dedicated mate, believing she would be at her strongest with a whole host of mates to breed her an army, but Emla has always sensed that there was a soul out there who was meant to be the sole father of her children. This ties into Emla's mother, Mmaarharl, who also had a sole mate until L'deibo's death. In story it can also just be waived off as eldritch nonsense- Emla knows because she knows and he doesn't need much justification beyond vague and cryptic nonsense. To persuade her otherwise, Rin would often bring back various eldritch beasts from the swamps and petition that Emla take it as her mate but Emla refused all of these attempts over the years.

Rin will be the second girl he sleeps with after winning Nia to his side. She doesn't turn down his advances as she would do anything Emla commands her to do, but is very upfront about hating him and believing this to be stupid- and for Nia to be an idiot, of course. Eventually, she will start to let up when she realizes how much determination he has to be with Emla. Furthermore, they have actual things that they will bond about. They had similar upbringings, with him being a child taken from his parents and forced to attend the Magicademy. She will slowly have to understand that it's possible for her to relate to a human and that it's okay for her to do this despite the culture she was raised in.

After she becomes his, Rin takes on a friendlier if still rough around the edges persona while being more submissive in private. She will motivate him to be better and will always be the one to say the harsh things he needs to hear when Emla and Nia can't. She is the rational and levelheaded one, but immensely loyal. Might be prone to a little jealousy given that she can't act as affectionate as the others yet still wants to be treated as his wife sometimes.
