🙋‍♂️

Hello everyone.

These days have been very difficult for me, hence the delay in posting.

After suffering a lot, I managed to solve the backup problem (cloning of SSDs). Now I have a 4TB NVME running the system and a safe and stable backup on an SSD and another backup on a mechanical HD. In addition to another backup of all assets on other 4TB mechanical HDs.

Before, my backups were to mechanical HDs, they took too long and were causing conflicts with my motherboard. Now everything runs on GPT and what used to take a whole day to make a backup, now from NVME to SSD takes less than two hours. In other words, there will never again be the risk of me losing everything I have created to date, and that is simply wonderful.

This afternoon after I managed to do it, I was so happy that I took advantage of the fact that I was messing around and disassembling the PC and decided to clean it. The water cooler radiator was simply clogged with so much dust. That's why the PC was making a lot of noise and getting really hot when I did the smallest task. I took it apart and did a quick cleaning, but when I put it back together, to my surprise, the PC wouldn't turn on. An orange light kept coming on, indicating a memory conflict. After taking the PC apart and putting it back together several times, watching dozens of videos, and browsing many forums, I managed to solve the problem. I had to reset the BIOS and turn off the XMP function on the memory and set the frequencies manually. I might lose a little performance, but at least the PC is working. I think that if I update the BIOS I'll be able to use the XMP function again, but I'm not going to do that for now.

I'm not a computer technician, I'm just trying to get by since I live in a rural area and it's too far to take a technician, and I also have the problem with the content I have on my PC. I don't feel like handing my PC over to someone else.

Anyway, I think I've lost a few years of my life these days, but I think it was for a good reason.

It's now three in the morning and I've just finished assembling the computer for the last time. I hope to start illustrating again tomorrow after lunch.

Thank you all very much for your support and understanding. 🙏

I wouldn't mess around with flashing the BIOS unless some new hardware you add has a conflict that can only be resolved by doing so. However, if you choose to flash it simply for the sake of it, do so with a thumb drive. Don't rely on third-party software. Better yet, check to see if your motherboard has a USB port labeled "BIOS" on the back of the computer that can be used for flashing. Some MSI motherboards have that port, along with a button you can push to start the process. Finally, make sure you have a functioning UPS. As far as the BIOS reset goes, removing components, especially overclocked components such as memory, could definitely cause issues if the BIOS settings were previously configured for specific hardware configurations. The XMP should be able to be turned back on after resetting the BIOS. If you had XMP profiles set up before the reset, then the reset reverted to the default values. I'm assuming your RAM is compatible since it seems like you had XMP turned on before cleaning the PC. Double-check your BIOS and see if you can't simply enable it again. It's actually pretty important to get it enabled again as it can improve your system's performance significantly.
