While I'm glad that Dany is seeing more and more sense about the BS she's been fed by Melissandre...it's not enough or fast enough. And I worry that the Red Priestess will decide to do some scorched Earth tactics and merc Davos & his family or even target Missandrei to try and get Rh'llor to answer her phone calls and give her some useful directions...that ain't coming. As for Axel's behavior in this chapter...his actions make more sense than Dany's - I know...not hard to do - but I also can't dismiss the point that others are making that Axel is a Viltrumite and is physically capable of going from King's Landing to Dragonstone in minutes (or faster) and climbing into the dragons' guts to rip them apart from from the inside out before Dany can process her draconic children's distress. I mean, I get it...Axel is the Viltrumite version of Superman - far more moral and far less xenophobic than his people, while also not being aware of everything that someone of his species can do - but even if he keeps on being Westeros' Man of (Valyrian) Steel and defeats Dany with words or sacrificial deeds...either his mom or The Great Other is gonna cause him to finally go full bare-knuckle grudge match. Him not doing now is costing him time to fully hone his abilities and prepare himself for the day Shit Gets Completely Real.

2025-08-27 08:37:58 +0000 UTCThe best way Axel can fight the dragons is by doing what World War II fighter pilots called "boom and zoom". At high speed he dives from high altitude, with the Sun at his back, and aims at either the dragon's neck or Daenerys herself, with the heaviest Valyrian steel sword he can get his hands on. If you want to make things stressful, you can have one of the other dragons get in the way so that Daenerys is not hit but gets taken out instead.

2025-08-27 02:34:37 +0000 UTCThis is getting good....though I'm still waiting for someone to call Dany on her own BS, at least she's beginning to see Melisandre may have misled her.

2025-08-27 00:21:10 +0000 UTCIn Axel's defense, he has a rather skewed idea of the horror of poisons, since it has never been much more than a spice for him.
