If you're afraid to try to say Cunk's name, spare a thought for all the newsreaders who had to deal with UK Chancellor of the Exchequer (a high post in government) not long ago called Jeremy Hunt (he was almost our Prime Minister at one point, which I would have loved if we really had to have another Tory PM anyway, solely for this reason!). There are videos out there (including a nice one-minute compilation) of them screwing that up frequently...

Philomena is the greatest of characters, so hilarious! Edit: I think the 30min "Cunk on Christmas" is the best one, especially asking the little girl how chickens were made into turkeys and getting that incredibly cute answer =D

Every one of them has handled it like a champ. For sure Brian Cox knew who she was. And considering he used to be in a successful band, I don't think he's joking when he says he can imagine how it would feel.

For me personally it's not about the gifts or the food, I just love seeing all the amazing lights people have these days, especially now LED lights are used. The lights brighten up the dark nights and bring me happiness, and If Jesus really existed then I hope he'd approve of that.

2025-06-24 14:11:43 +0000 UTCA bit of context, this character started off on a show call Charlie brooker (the guy from black mirror,) screen wipe, there were two ‘talking heads’ characters, Philomena & a male Barry shitpeas, both are ‘brick thick’ stupid, commenting on current events. Charlie then expanded Philomena as a fully fledged person with her mate ‘Dave’ Diane plays her dead pan, the people interviewed know they are going to get stupid questions but are told to try and stay deadpan also, it’s done in several takes! If you watch Diane in several other shows she does deadpan to a tee!
