I suppose that Bronn wrote the stories of Axel's strength and prowess off as gross exaggerations, understandable really.

Rule 13: "All slain enemies will be cremated, or at least have several rounds of ammunition emptied into them, *not left for dead at the bottom of the cliff*. The announcement of their deaths, as well as any accompanying celebration, will be deferred until after the aforementioned disposal." Axel made DAMN certain that Littlefinger was dead with his own two eyes. Plus, as has been said, climbing up out of the Moon Door covered in what was left of the man who had so sorely vexed him for so long was METAL AS FUCK. And this will further add to his growing legend. By the time he's done, nobody SANE and INFORMED will dare oppose Axel the Blessed.
