2025-02-20 18:27:52 +0000 UTCAnother recommendation is from their 2007 glasto performance, just see how young they were. The song to check out is when the sun goes down - classic crowd singing the intro.

2025-02-12 23:46:47 +0000 UTCLead singer Alex Turner is now 39, so he’s in your age bracket, Mike and Jess. He definitely has a fascination with the 1960s. His side project, The Lost Shadow Puppets, has an authentic 60s sound. They have produced a couple of albums. They do a beautiful version of an obscure David Bowie track ‘In The Heat Of The Morning’, which is Turner’s favourite song.

2025-02-01 21:32:39 +0000 UTCThe official video for this song was also a live set, I guess they knew a standard music video wouldn’t capture the same raw energy. It's worth watching just to see how young they look! As for Glastonbury, when you see those wide shots that look like a city, it’s actually a dairy farm in the middle of nowhere. The site covers over 1,000 acres with hundreds of stages and events. I haven’t been since the ‘90s, but it’s an experience like no other!

2025-02-01 18:39:05 +0000 UTCHere's another of their live ones from Glasto I think you'll appreciate based on your reaction here, their first appearance at Glastonbury too - Arctic Monkeys - When The Sun Goes Down - Glastonbury 2007 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swjuK5TCaeo

2025-02-01 16:13:18 +0000 UTCI was going to say are you getting the lyrics :D Used to live in Sheffield where they're from and their accents are very Sheffield - Pulp, The Human League, Heaven 17 and Richard Hawley are other great Sheffield bands / artists. You should check out the earliest recording of the song - it's made to look like a late 70s recordings like Joy Division's Live at Granada appearance

2025-02-01 16:01:13 +0000 UTCMardy Bum is a brilliant couples song by Arctic Monkeys you might enjoy reacting to. The song narrates a young couple’s petty arguments and mood swings, capturing the ups and downs of a relationship. It’s quite humorous. Mardy Bum is a Northern English slang term (especially in Sheffield, where the band comes from) meaning someone who is moody, sulky, or grumpy.

2025-02-01 15:40:06 +0000 UTCThe Glastonbury headline sets are always broadcast live here on all 3 days. They’ve played it a few times and it’s always a good watch.

2025-02-01 15:32:58 +0000 UTCLove the Arctic Monkeys and especially how every album has it own unique style. Seen them live a few times but never felt their live performance matched how good the recordings are (I know many will disagree! - but even this song I feel has more energy in the recording).

2025-02-01 15:25:36 +0000 UTCThis song is off their debut album, which is the best ever selling debut album in the UK. This is when they were at their best imo. Usually reactors listen to their more mainstream albums but I definitely recommend listening to songs of this album

2025-02-01 15:14:23 +0000 UTCI remember when this song was released, it fealt like an explosion of energy during a time when music in the UK was becoming particularly stale.
