It’s quite dark in some ways, Gerry Rafferty split with his band Stealers Wheels (Stuck In The Middle With You) and couldn’t release any records until it was resolved. In the years the legal dispute was dragging on he was travelling from Scotland to London and staying with a friend in Baker Street drinking and partying. He had a big battle with alcohol and ended up dying of liver failure. But the song has a hopeful tone and the saxophone and guitar solo are magic.
