British Plugs and Outlets Are On Another Level!

Comments

I used to go to a computer club in the late 1980s in a room of a pub and I think at points we had over 20 computers running off a few wall sockets and a shitload of flat extension/adaptors, we never tripped the main fuse of the pub. Also the only time I have ever encountered a load balancing issue was growing up we got our kitchen refurbished and when the new wiring was put in there was too much loaded onto one fuse in the fuse box which was tripped when we had the oven, shower and things plugged in switched on which was easily solved by a sparkie just by him moving some of the wiring on to other fuses in the fuse box which solved the issue.

No ones stepping on plugs. We don't unplug them and throw them on the floor. I mean we literally just flip the switch.

Load balancing. Never ever heard of it or had to consider it. He's just stretching for some balance. Yes ALL plugs are type G. Will also say that although you do still see some serviceable plugs, most new ones these days are moulded with a fuse access point . But ( showing my age) when I was at school kids were taught how to wire a plug.

I used to use thousands of watts in 1 room, load balancing isn’t a thing

Mr Snrub

Great reaction, yes all of our plugs are exactly the same, the only thing that varies like he said is the earth pin is plastic for certain appliances, like others have said I also have never heard of the Load Balancing thing either, I have never had to worry about plugging too many things in in one place , you can just plug in whatever you want wherever basically.

Matt Hardy

Load balancing was more for back in the day when it was just fuse wire and things like straightners , irons, dryers etc weren't the norm, now with fuse boxes it isn't an issue at all! Can run what you want in a room

I have never heard about the load balancing issue. I cant even imagine what it would look like.

Laurence P-O

Me neither and I’m running loads of electronics in one room

Kieran B

Load balancing really isn’t an issue, it’s more of a stretch for the video I think My extension cable has surge protection. The power grid is more stable here though, power cuts and brownouts are incredibly rare too

Kieran B

Great video.....just to add though, load balancing is not really an issue in the UK.....never experienced it
