Here it is, my talk on how to create content and engage with the younger generations on social media platforms we actually use.
This is about half the talk from "Ehangu o'r gorllewin: Dysgu gwersi Wrecsam" / "Expanding from the west: Lessons from Wrexham". Those of you who have already watched Flog Dydd Gwener will know that Carrie didn't hit record on her phone (after spending 30 mins setting up her tripod) so it's a good job I was vain enough to set my phone up so we had both angles c...

The obscure music knowledge I posted on the clock yesterday did terribly. Normally the way I consider a video to have done good enough is when the like are 10% of the views, but currently the video on The Cory Band is on 2553 views & only 160 likes so have this Kellogg’s video. I’ll post it eventually but idk.. I’m trying to figure out how to talk about lesser known parts of Cymru’s history that aren’t about indy in a way that won’t tank my engagement

Hylo pawb,
I wanted to get your opinions on the order to post Ysgol Haf content. Everything needs to go up on here before it gets put on TikTok, I don’t really have a preference for that since the convo in my page this week has been about identity, reconnection and diaspora stemming from the hiraeth content. I can easily move the discussion in the direction of Ysgol Haf. But I was wondering what order you’d like to see things in. Everything will go up over the next 2 weeks and then ...

From the Q&A section of Rhun's "Communicating our Message" session.
Rhun's talk was excellent and having crossed paths with Adam Price (former leader of PC) a couple of times in the last year it was really nice to get to speak to the new leader of the party.

I’m at Plaid Cymru’s Ysgol Haf (summer school) this weekend. It’s essentially a weekend to get updates about campaigning and what’s happening in the party.
Carrie Harper, county councillor for Queensway ward in Wrexham, very kindly asked me to join her talk so I can explain how tiktok works to a bunch of politicians and party members. I’ve requested the talk be recorded so I can share it with you. I may post snippets to tiktok but you guys are go...

I've split the people category in 2 parts; part 1 is for family words and part 2 is for the miscellaneous ones.
*also apologies, it's actually DAIN not DAID for the gender neutral Northern grandparent, I didn't notice until after I'd already edited the video. But my opinion on the word is pretty much unchanged. I do still think it's too close to Daid (soft mutated Taid), but I guess this is the issue with portmanteaus right? They're always going to be a very similar to ...

Today we're are learning the different ways 'si' can be used in Cymraeg. It's mainly a sound used to replicate loanwords when the sound or letter loaning in doesn't occur in the language.
This is a bit of a vocab dump and I know it's a long video for a bit of a simple rule, but I was mainly hoping to give you lots of words that aren't on the 625 list so I'm not repeating things.

Welcome to the 625 Words to Get You Fluent list, part 3 of Locations.
Words covered in this video; airport, train station, railway station, shop, market, bank, restaurant, library, theatre, hospital, church, club, bar.
I'm also using this as an opportunity to talk about a little history, some fun quirks of Cymraeg, and local geography and linguistic history (which may or may not just have been an excuse to draw more maps)

Pawb, I'm putting the finishing touches on the script for the video on Mytholeg Cymru influences in fantasy media and the section on The Black Cauldron is massive.
This video is going to be a long one anyway just because I want to try to cover as much as possible and I'm hesitant to make it in 2 parts as it might disrupt the flow. But I'm wondering if I could get your opinions on this.
Since The Black Cauldron is the largest section of the video should I make that it's own separat...

Let's Learn about Cwm Elan and the Birmingham reservoir scheme.
Here's the part of the script I didn't noticed hadn't recorded:
The Elan reservoir was officially opened July 21st 1904 by King George VII and Queen Alexandra and first water reached Birmingham on July 28th, but was not available until September. The Claerwen dam was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1952.
Of the 67 properties in the Elan area; 26 submerged, 18 demolished or abandoned, 20 still in use and 13 of th...

The story of Cantre'r Gwaelod is essentially a cautionary tale about drinking on the job and how unreliable your boss is, I thought with the state of the island that now is the perfect time for this story.
As with all tales there are more variations than just the 2 I have mentioned. Cymric stories, like most folklore out there began with the oral traditions and so there will always be some differences. In the one today it was damage to the wall, in the children's vers...

Today we are going to be looking at another aspect of our nemesis, the letter Y. Yep, just when you thought this pesky letter couldn't go against the phonetics of the language anymore.. turns out we're not done. We'll also look at unwritten vowel sounds occurring between 2 consecutive consonants at the end of words (think like a svarabhakti vowel butt not quite) and dropping the letter F when it follows A at the end of words.
As always, please do not hesitate to ask qu...

I attended the Plaid Cymru Conference in Llandudno on Friday October 21st, unfortunately due to the exhaustion and pain of the day I was unable to return for the Saturday session, but I was still able to collect the relevant information on the day's proceedings. I attended motions, speeches, debates and some fringe meetings. I'm not entirely sure how to separate this all out so there may be future adjustments to formatting.
Hopefully this will shed some light on the inner workings of th...

I've just set up a new billing, it won't affect your payments, but you may have noticed you get charged on the first of each month instead of from the date you signed up. Today's Cornel Stori is the tale of Y Ddraig Goch and the prophecy that came from it. This tale involves King Vortigern (a King of the Britons from the 5th Century), the Saxon rulers of Lloegr (England), Myrddin (Merlin), and King Arthur.
I got a little carried away at the end there, but I guess I just needed to let some feelings out. This prophecy fills me with so much hope for the future, I'll let video Leigh explain.
