Like the other mini-scene I did a while back, I kind of rushed this so I think this must be about as generic as I can get. If it didn't have some character to it, it wouldn't be any fun! I wouldn't talk bad about other artists, since a lot of them are more successful than me, and I really envy their productivity - what with getting multiple things released a year and all! My design philosophy differs in a few ways. 1: BACKGROUND (pretty basic here though) should be a character, ideally with as much detail and personality as any of the people in the scene, to convey more about the world the scene is in, and about the characters - like what they're like if it's their home, or how different it is from them, or whatever... Even if it takes longer to render than a plain background. 2. PERSONALITY is key. Characters should never have rigid poses or plain facial expressions because the fact that they're alive is what makes them a person, and therefore infinitely superior to a RealDoll(tm). 3. REALISTIC body proportions allow you to imagine you could meet someone like this in real life (my girlfriend wore elf ears and it... it was very nice). Also, a fantasy world strains credibility enough - having multiple ridiculous concepts to buy into makes it harder to get into the scene. Anyway I've never understood people's interest in cartoonishly large secondary sex characteristics, personally. That kind of goes along with: 4. I IDENTIFY with the female characters, they're the ones I project myself into (this is why there are so few male characters). So, giant tits just make me go, "Ow, the back pain, please lie down. Would you like some Aleve(tm)? Can I... fluff your pillows?" Furthermore, I think what you might call passion in this scene, I would call "intention". They have their own personalities and intentions, other than "to be on display". The fact that they're beautiful to look at is incidental, they're gonna get some, regardless of whether anyone is watching. I could rant about several topics here - mainstream "lesbian" porn featuring people that so clearly are just on display for the audience, are NOT lesbians and have no idea how to fuck each other (seriously it's like watching woefully under-qualified gynos attempt their first pelvic exam), OR the fact that so many straight people think they're so different from each other that the idea of identifying with someone of the "opposite" sex sounds impossibly alien (when every queer person I know can see far more similarities than differences), OR centuries of repression making people uncomfortable (or unfamiliar) with the idea of women GOING FOR IT because deep down everyone's pretty similarly horny if they're being honest with themselves - but women are just not supposed to be because it's not "ladylike". Likewise how unfamiliar is the idea that (hashtag) Not All Men(tm) are horndogs who are always up for sex (some women are horndogs btw), or interested in always taking a "leadership role" in sexual situations. It creates very cliched scenes with strangely traditionalist gender roles that play out in mainstream porn all the time, but don't actually feel much like a real sex life... to me anyway. Seriously. Who doesn't like to be seduced and have the other person to take the lead sometimes? By the way, that's me NOT ranting about those subjects. I wanted to say I really, really like this set. It feels genuine, and those elves are just beyond beautiful (I especially like their boobs). What I think makes your artwork special shines through here: passion. Other CG erotica makers I know of, from Affect3D for example, almost always go for extremely cliché settings, girls with pumped up tits, and rush out set after set. The time and effort you put into creating a believable world (dare I say, universe!) is, for me, what sets you apart from the crowd of generic porn. And of course a nice dick here and there helps as well! So yeah, keep up the good stuff. I hope you'll become a name to be reckoned with (insofar you aren't one already ;)), and thanks for giving us patrons a sneak-peak.
