Angel

A guardian angel watches over the Kingdom of Sexual Fantasies. Considering the kingdom she's assigned to, you know she's not as pure and innocent as she looks.

I had a run of bad luck with my website as most of you know, but it's been back up and running for a little while, so my good luck must have gotten recharged! ^_^

I know it's getting to be final exams season, so maybe some of you need a guardian angel to watch out for you! It's also about time for the pagan holiday of Beltane, which I guess is a good time to believe in sexy beings bringing you good luck, no?

This is a quick redesign of the Angel of Light, to go with the Angel of Darkness redesign (which I should be showing you guys tomorrow). I'm not sure about the Angel of Darkness, but the Angel of Light will be appearing in SFK6.

There's no reason for me to be working on these characters right now, but as I was working on the tomb scene I started thinking about the metaphysical world of the SFK.

There is a "heaven" where both the aforementioned angels come from - the Angel of Darkness is not exactly evil, and she's not fallen from heaven or anything... Both are attuned to the people of the kingdom, one to their kinder, gentler nature, and the other to their vices and desires.

One is there to guide and judge, the other to test and tempt.

There's a goddess overseeing all this. She was a goddess of war in the pantheon of the ancients, but she chose the path of peace and thrust her sword into the ground (or the sea). She's the only ancient deity left in the world. The others are asleep, dead, sealed away, or just don't exist - because there's only one goddess some of the people are monotheists who believe there is only one. She's sometimes represented by a moon symbol, but more often by a sword pointing down, with the tip cut off. So... what we modern folks would recognize as a cross.

That's why crosses scare vampires in the SFK - they're actually symbols of the sword of the war goddess, and as anyone who played my little RPG knows, a holy sword can hurt monsters pretty bad!

There's also a "hell" with demons in it. The Angel of Darkness is a saint compared to them. But we won't be seeing them until the opening scene of SFK6.
