ROUGH DRAFT Coye Vol 2 Ch 11

Coye woke to the sound of Suzette shouting, seemingly coming from the store. He jumped out of bed, throwing the blanket to the ground as he started to instinctually look for his sword.
“Mnngh... what’s going on...?” Shayla poked her head out, rubbing her eyes. Coye thought that she looked a little rough, but was more concerned.
“Suzette’s in trouble,”
“You go and deal with that, then...” She groaned. “My stomach is forcing me to question my life choices...”
Coye gave the fairy a serious nod, then rushed off naked. He briefly paused in the living room to pull on his underwear, his speed making it take only a second.
He made it to the store, to see Suzette perfectly fine, albeit a little miffed. She was inspecting a shelf of candy.
“Mrs. Lillis?” He asked on impulse.
Suzette looked over at the mostly naked boy barging in, “Darling? Oh, no... did I wake you?”
“Yes,” Coye approached, still in fight mode. “Are you ok? Did something break-in?”
“I don’t think so,” she sighed. “More like an unwanted guest went helping themselves to my stock without permission...”
Coye stepped forward and looked over the shelf for himself, inspecting it for any signs of pests. “I don’t see any signs of rats or any other pest...”
“Rats typically aren’t interested in playing cards, so I’m not surprised...”
“Wait, did it steal those cards, too?”
“Just one pack, for whatever reason...”
“You can tell?”
“Of course, I can,” Suzette cocked her hips and laughed. “What sort of merchant would I be if I didn’t take inventory?”
“I-I wouldn’t know the first thing about that...” Coye looked away as suspicion started to grow in his mind.
A rat probably wouldn’t have gone after candy in the first place, but the cards were too big of a detail to ignore. Then, he remembered Shayla’s upset tummy and everything made sense.
“Um, h-how much gold would it take to replace everything that was ruined?” He asked, blushing and looking away.
“Oh, don’t worry about it, Darling...” Suzette sighed and started to pile up the damaged goods. “I’m sure that whatever went nibbling through my goods was hungry and that they’ll take good care of the cards, so I’ll overlook it just this once. Besides, I should be thankful.”
Coye tilted his head. “Wha? W-Why would you be thankful?”
“I wouldn’t have gotten to see my cute little man rush to defend me in his undies if I hadn’t screamed, isn’t that right?” Suzette had a wide, pleasant smile on her face that renewed Coye’s delayed sense of shame.
He blushed, hunching over and covering his groin with his hands even though he wasn’t hard or anything. “I-I’m sorry, I-”
“Darling, please,” she chuckled. “You make it sound like I don’t appreciate the eye candy.”
“Nnn...” Coye’s ears drooped as they, too, reddened.
“As much as I like seeing you like this, how about you go and get dressed for the day and I’ll whip up something special for breakfast?” Suzette urged him, helping Coye to forget his flustered state.
“T-That sounds really nice, yeah...” Coye agreed and left the store, feeling Suzette’s eyes baring down on his cute little butt as he did.
His clothes were all still in Suzette’s living room, and as he slid on his pants, Coye checked his pants to confirm his suspicion. There was now an additional pack of cards beyond the two Suzette had given him.
“Shayla...” he mumbled.
After donning his tunic and fastening his belt, he headed back to the bedroom to give the Pixie a rude awakening. Although Suzette would be busy starting breakfast any moment now, he still closed the door so that the two could talk without worry.
“Hey,” Coye lifted the tip of his hat up off the wardrobe. “You up yet?”
Shayla stretched out in her nest of pillows and rubbed a trickle of drool “Ugh... regretfully, yes...”
“I-I don’t feel any sympathy for you, I hope you know...” He took his hat and sat it on his head, exposing the Pixie to the minimal light coming in through the window in the otherwise dark room.
“Hey, a girl’s gotta eat,” Shayla said with a yawn. “Not like I coulda woke either of you up and asked for a tiny sandwich, right?”
“I guess... but... you still deserve this.”
Coye didn’t sound very convincing when he was trying to criticize her, and came off more as a grumpy child. Just like Suzette, Shayla was thinking it wasn’t a bad sight to see first thing in the morning.
“Totally worth it.” Shayla shrugged after sitting up. “Doesn’t matter what kind of fairy you are, none of us can resist sugar when it’s right there for the taking.”
“Suzette’s candy ‘there for the taking’, Shayla...!”
“Oh, don’t sweat it. She’s basically your girlfriend now and since I’m your ride or die partner that basically makes her my girlfriend, too. A girl can swipe a few sweets from her cute, milfy gee-eff, can’t she?”
Coye blushed and looked down at the floor. “T-that is NOT how that works,” he couldn’t believe he had to clarify this. “Besides, she’s not my girlfriend... I think... a-and even if she was you can’t just steal her stuff!”
“Are you upset that I didn’t swipe anything for you? Check your pocket, big guy, your big sis has you covered!”
“I saw,” he frowned. “T-Thanks, but... I-I can’t-”
“And what did Suzette say?”
“She... she said that it’s not a big deal...”
“Figured. You can sneak it back on the display without her knowing if it really bugs you, or you can just keep it. Your call.” Shayla gave him a crooked smile after sowing the seeds of temptation.
Coye wrestled with what was right and wrong, just as she wanted him to, and being a submissive who didn’t like confrontation, took the path of least resistance. “Fine, you win... Suzette said it didn’t matter, anyway, so... I’ll just keep it...”
“That’s my boy,” Shayla nodded approvingly at this decision. She loved to see him uncomfortable, but she was also glad to see him accept the stolen gift, since she did it to make him happy, after all.
“When are you gonna open ‘em up, by the way? I’ll admit I’m kinda curious to see what the big deal with these things are after all the hype.”
“Later, it’s almost breakfast time.” Coye said, smelling the air and letting the fragrant aroma coming from the kitchen fill his nostrils.
“Sweet, what’re we having?” Shayla finally stood and cracked her little back. She was wearing a cute turquoise sheer nightgown, but it was replaced with her standard outfit after she finished up stretching.
“You’re not getting anything, you’ll just throw it up... or worse...”
“Fair enough,” Shayla groaned. “Speaking of, how are you feeling today, big guy?”
Coye hadn’t really thought about it, since he had rushed out of bad to go and check on Suzette. “Uh, actually... really good!” His eyes opened wide as he grew more aware of his body.
“Nice! You can skip the details for now since your new gal pal is gonna wanna hear all about it, too.”
“Sure,” Coye nodded his head and let out a sigh of deep relief. “You good to go?” He asked, lifting up the bottom of his cap.
“I’ll try not to throw up all over your hair,” she teased and went in.
“Please, don’t...”
“We should be fine as long as you don’t go using Quick Step anytime soon.”
“No promises,” Coye laughed.
As a polite gesture, he tidied up Suzette’s bed for her before leaving the room. The sheets and blankets were still wet, but there wasn’t much he could do about that. He was more focused on taking care of his morning routine, grabbing some breakfast, and getting to talk more in-depth with Suzette about yesterday’s events.
