Added 2024-12-23 14:04:52 +0000 UTCHappy holidays! I come to you with a progress devog and a 'what's to come' update. Progress first:
a supplementary scene for a romanced Saltire was just added (2 versions, depending on your stat). I also had to sort out the love triangle variables for Mal and Lotar (because I confused myself again lmao), so that's done as well.
As most of you, I've been busy with x-mas prep, so I didn't have much time to write after I finished the snippets. I have the courtier's branch (departure scene) almost ready, though, so I might upload that shortly after the x-mas nightmare is over. I'll do my best to have the crown's branches done, too, but as always, I will upload what I have.
Other than that, I'll focus on the next (Sal's) snippet, and another Avulsion update. This time the branching is muuuuuuuch smaller, so it shouldn't take me longer than two months to finish the chapter (I'll be aiming for one thought).
As for the 'what's to come.' After wrapping up FMO and Avulsion. I'll work on a short playable extra for FMO with a new MC and 2 ROs (20k words or so, like a jam-sized script). I'll take place during the Summoner's absence in the Overshadow.
The main point is to show the changes in the surrounding and the FMO's ROs, and explore the demon race more, this time as a playable character. I'm planning on working on that while I wait for the feedback after the release, so it'll be a good moment to let me know if you want any choices/scenes added to the main game or as separate snippets, etc.
As for a new project(s), once Avulsion and FMO are done, I'll finalllllly get back to Amalgam + a new commercial. Iβll let you choose between two or three (or fifteen, lol because my list of ideas keeps growing), but I'll let you know more once I get to it.
The one thing that I do know for sure is that juggling 5 ROs (plus 2 LT routes) was even more challenging than I thought, but you know me, I only ever learn the tough way. Even with having a minimal amount of variables/choices, the script, though enjoyable to write, takes a while to finish. It would probably be OK to handle if all I did was dev, but working on it in-between other stuff is not something I can easily do. So for my newer projects I'll limit myself to 3 ROs max, since I can always add more post-release.
I did learn a lot about scripting and carrying narrative for longer games (also that I am a clown and I keep adding stuff like there's no tomorrow), and thanks to that I think I will be able to draft the new projects in such a way that they are more manageable for me to finish in a more timely manner. I know that 2-3 years for a solo game is not a bad score, but I often feel guilty for not writing fast enough, so I hope with a better and more concise draft, I will be able to rectify that.

I'm late to the party since I only got back to Patreon. But I'm so happy to hear from you and your progress with all the behind-the-scene work you're doing!
