This was mentioned once way back in the only episode Kunimi has been in (so itโs not a surprise that people have forgotten). This is also, at least a little bit, an example of information being lost in the translation. Kasai refers to Kunimi as โKunimi-senpaiโ, which makes their relationship more obvious - if they were brothers then he wouldnโt use Kunimiโs last name like that, even if they were half siblings with different last names like Mai and Nodoka, and โsenpaiโ of course indicates that they at least went to the same school (also indicated by wearing the same uniform), and probably had interactions there, something that would remind a Japanese viewer โOh yeah, they mentioned the basketball club beforeโ.
