Chapter 9: Pentos

Runestone

Rhea Royce, who became a Targaryen by marriage, was far from pleased, and her daughter Rhee was practically seething with anger.

King Viserys had written them personally, detailing everything without holding back. Unlike the version he would share with the public, he recounted the events exactly as they unfolded.

Naruto Targaryen was banished from Westeros due to allegations of having intimate relations with both his illegitimate daughter and his niece Rhaenyra, the crown princess and rightful heir to the Iron Throne. To make matters worse, he also had an encounter with a disreputable prostitute.

Rhea consistently held a contemptuous attitude toward sex workers, perceiving them as immoral individuals who sell their bodies for financial gain. While she acknowledged that some may be coerced into such circumstances, it did not change her conviction that they interacted with numerous partners, potentially spreading diseases and unwanted pregnancies.

The bronze bitch, as they call her, allows Naruto to sleep around—not that she could stop him—with different women, but she always thought it was with noble ladies, like the Hightower's wife.

Rhea couldn't suppress a smile at the thought of Otto Hightower discovering that her husband had cheated on him and that his daughter was illegitimate. She imagined how satisfying it would have been to witness his reaction, which likely combined anger, shock, and humiliation.

The Lady of Runestone has always held a dislike for Otto, believing that he and his family considered themselves superior to others. Now, he has become the subject of ridicule throughout Westeros.

"How about we journey to Essos, Mother?" Rhee said, forcing the words out. "We can't abandon Father to those scheming women."

Rhea gazed at her daughter, who seemed to be the ideal blend of both her and Naruto. She inherited her brown hair and Naruto's striking purple-blue Targaryen eyes. Although she was usually gentle, she could be surprisingly relentless when the situation called for it.

Rhea sighed to herself, uncertain whether her daughter was truly interested in Naruto or if she simply adored her father too much. She couldn't help but feel the urge to confront Naruto. Even though he was exiled, he could have at least written to them to explain what had transpired.

"Take a deep breath, Rhee," Rhea urged, prompting her daughter to raise an eyebrow in surprise. Just moments before, Rhea had felt the same level of anger as Rhee, making her attempt to soothe her daughter seem unusual. "We can't travel to Essos right now; we have obligations to fulfill here, and I need to look after your little brother."

Rhea's words helped Rhee relax, especially when she mentioned her younger brother, who was too young to make the journey. However, Rhee was determined not to remain in Westeros for an extended period while her father was in Essos.

"Alright, I'll remain here for the time being, but once the baby is old enough, we will seek out Father," Rhee stated with conviction, making it clear to Rhea that her decision was final.

"Once your little brother is old enough, we’ll track down your father and have him clarify why he didn’t even bother to inform us about his exile," Rhea said. She understood that her daughter was resolute about pursuing Naruto, but at least they had some years to strategize and decide who would oversee Runestone during their absence.

Essos [Pentos]

Pentos was among the independent cities located in Essos; it resembled a marketplace in Westeros, but unlike there, slavery was still permitted. Consequently, in addition to food and clothing, slaves were also available for purchase.

As Naruto strolled through the bustling streets of Pentos, Rhaenyra perched on his back while Mysaria and Alicent flanked him on either side. He had made it clear to the women to keep near him; it would be disastrous if anyone attempted to abduct them for the purpose of slavery.

"You’re such a bastard, Uncle," Rhaenyra complained, her backside sore from Naruto's earlier actions. "I’m going to be walking awkwardly for days because of you."

"I believe it could take weeks, considering how rough I was with you," Naruto responded, dismissing his niece's grievances. She got what she deserved; it was her consequence. "And just so you know, I’m not a bastard. My parents were in a loving marriage when I was born."

Naruto's playful retort left Rhaenyra feeling exasperated. However, she was aware that reacting excessively, as she might have done with her father, wouldn’t be wise. Instead, she opted to nip at Naruto's neck with enough force to sting, but not enough to draw blood.

“Hey, cut it out before I toss you aside,” Naruto warned. Rhaenyra was gnawing at his neck like a fierce beast instead of behaving like a princess.

Mysaria and Alicent observed the antics of the two Targaryens with disapproval, shaking their heads. They glanced at the crowd and noticed some onlookers, who seemed hesitant to approach, likely aware that the dragons were hovering above, prepared to incinerate anyone who dared to challenge them.

Alicent glanced at Rhaenyra with envy, recalling how Naruto had kept Rhaenyra in position while he moved in and out of her.

The princess at first cursed at Naruto, whimpering and groaning as he fucked her ass. Then she turned to begging for forgiveness, but she got none. Finally, to Alicent's amazement, Rhaenyra started to enjoy it; she let out loud moans as Naruto took her cheeks.

This made the bastard-born woman think about how it would feel to have Naruto's cock inside her butt. Would it hurt, or would it feel good?

Mysaria likely had an idea of what was on her mind, as her flushed expression suggested a mix of emotions. After flashing a smile, she proceeded to speak.

Alicent felt embarrassed by Mysaria's comments and swiftly glanced at Naruto, feeling relieved to see that he wasn't focused on their conversation but rather trying to get Rhaenyra to stop biting him.

After a while, Rhaenyra settled down, and they went to some of the merchants to buy supplies, food, clothes, and other essentials.

"Where are we going, Father?" Alicent asked. She was not talking about the destination in Pentos but their ultimate goal and where they could build a home.

"I want to see Valyria," Naruto replied, making the others' eyes widen because Valyria was cursed, or so they said. It was also a quarantine zone for those with grayscale. "What's with the faces?"

Naruto saw that Rhaenyra, Alicent, and Mysaria were looking at him like he was crazy. He could understand why; nobody willingly goes to Valyria anymore. It is said to have monsters from when his people lived there.

"You can't be serious," Mysaria said with a look of fear on her face. "If you told me you were going to commit suicide, I would not have come with you."

"You are being overdramatic, Mysaria. There may be dangers in Valyria, but I am confident I can handle them and keep you all safe," Naruto stated as he looked around to see they were being followed.

The Targaryen knew that if he got into a fight, he would need his hands to ensure he could keep his female companions safe, so he quickly handed Rhaenyra to Mysaria to the displeasure of both women.

"Why have you been following us?" Naruto turned around to see his followers, who happened to be what looked like the guards of Pentos: three men in armor and swords.

The men approached but stopped several feet away as they heard a dragon's roar overhead. They looked up to see Cannibal looking at them hungrily, practically begging them to do something stupid so it could come down and eat them.

"Pardon my rudeness, my Lord Targaryen, I was sent here by the Magisters of Pentos to invite you to dine with them," the one whom Naruto assumed was in charge spoke.

Naruto looked at the men in amusement; he could smell the fear that came off them from the sight of their dragons. But he also knew that the Magisters were not to be trusted, but maybe he could use them to his advantage. He didn't have unlimited money, after all, and would need an extra wallet to fund their travels.

Naruto reflected on this as he glanced at the women accompanying him. Rhaenyra and Alicent had already spent a significant portion of the money he had brought along; accustomed to a life of luxury as noblewomen, they were used to fulfilling their every wish. Meanwhile, Mysaria, who was a courtesan, was less costly to maintain, yet she still managed to deplete his resources.

"Taking the lead, I accept the invitation from the Magisters," Naruto said after considering it for a moment. He was aware of Pentos' history and could wager that the Magisters would likely act foolishly, potentially leading to him having to deal with them. Nonetheless, he was content knowing that he and his friends would have a comfortable bed to sleep in tonight.

"Follow me, dragon rider," the guard instructed with a wave, indicating the path ahead. Naruto couldn't help but find humor in the barely concealed fear reflected in their eyes, especially as they glanced up to see five dragons soaring above them.

Naruto realized he needed to keep Alicent and Rhaenyra close, with Mysaria being a lesser priority. The former prostitute was capable of taking care of herself, but as an untrained woman, she would likely be forced back into servitude if captured.

Naruto reduced his speed to ensure he was far enough away from the guards to be out of earshot, while still allowing his female companions to hear him without any issues.

"Once we arrive at their destination, stick by my side and avoid eating anything," Naruto instructed. Alicent and Rhaenyra, unfamiliar with such circumstances, merely nodded in agreement, while Mysaria let out a scoff.

"Do I seem foolish enough to eat anything offered by people who obviously have ulterior motives, particularly towards you?" Mysaria remarked, and she had a point—there was a subtle indication that these individuals were after something from him, or perhaps from Alicent or Rhaenyra.

The only thing he could speculate was that the Magisters desired his lineage, so they might send a servant or slave to seduce him and bear his child, or they could attempt to abduct Alicent or Rhaenyra to use them for breeding their own dragon riders.

The only problem is that Naruto Targaryen is here along with the five dragons in the sky that are ready to lay waste to the city of Pentos at their master's word.

"Why are we going with them if you think they are up to no good, father?" Alicent asked with a cute tilt of her head. He knew that she was making herself look cute on purpose, but he could also sense she was nervous.

"You don't have to worry; I will protect you all," Naruto replied with a smile and pecked Alicent on the cheek, making her blush. "And we are going with them because they are going to try to get at us whether we go to them or not, so we might as well go and deal with them now."

Mysaria acknowledged with a nod, realizing what she suspected about Naruto. While he was infamous for his lewd behavior, he was also a formidable fighter, adept not only with a sword but also in strategic thinking.

Rhaenyra and Alicent agreed to Naruto's explanation, with the blonde princess adjusting herself on his back. She still felt discomfort in her lower body and thought about pressing her chest against Naruto's back as a form of payback, knowing he wouldn't be able to help himself for a while.

"What exactly do these Magisters want from us?" Naruto inquired playfully, causing the guards to tense up, which he found entertaining. He also gave Rhaenyra's thigh a gentle pinch to signal that he was aware of her actions. "You must have some insight."

The three guards exchanged glances, unsure of how to respond. Finally, the leader spoke up, addressing Naruto. "I can't say for certain, dragon rider. The decisions made by the esteemed Magisters are beyond the understanding of someone like me," he said, his voice filled with respect when he mentioned the Magisters.

Rhaenyra inquired of Naruto, "What makes these Magisters so remarkable? Are they the leaders of this area or merely affluent traders?"

"The Magisters may be merchants, but they wield authority over the prince himself in fact they appoint the prince to handle daily matters, yet it is they who truly hold the power," one of the other guards remarked, earning a sharp glare from the leader.

Naruto observed this with a sense of amusement, realizing that the guard had likely revealed more than intended. Now it was clear to him that the individuals they were about to meet were the true leaders, while the prince was merely a symbolic figurehead.

"Why haven't you answered my question yet? Why do the Magisters want to meet with us?" Naruto asked again, causing the guard to feel uneasy. "Surely you have some idea—could it be because of our dragons, or is there another reason?"

The guards recoiled at Naruto's mention of dragons, and the male Targaryen realized he would need to deal with these Magisters decisively. He only hoped he wouldn't have to set the city ablaze in the process.
