Chapter 15: Culling Games

Uzumaki Clan Compound

"So far, we know that Kenjaku has Tengen, he is in an unknown body, and from the rumors I heard, he enlisted some foreign military to enter the Culling games," Naruto said, listing all he knew so far. All of this was bad news, but sadly, there was more.

Kenjaku's machinations cast a long shadow over the fate of sorcerers and non-sorcerers alike. His ultimate scheme involves merging humanity with Master Tengen to create a singular cursed entity, a move that could alter the course of human evolution.

The Culling Game, a deadly contest set across various colonies in Japan, serves as a means to an end for Kenjaku, accumulating cursed energy to fulfill his grand plan.

The involvement of foreign military forces underlines the global implications of his actions, adding a layer of complexity to the already perilous situation.

"If Kenjaku has Tengen, why doesn't he start the merger?" Yuki asked curiously. She would think the evil sorcerer would want to begin creating the ultimate curse spirit made from all the people of Japan.

"Because I think Sorcerers can resist the merger and also Kenjaku probably needs to accumulate enough curse energy to start first," Naruto replied after some thought.

"That makes sense," Yuki said. She did not know if the blonde man's theory was right, but it sounded possible. "What are we going to do?"

"Yuji and the others will likely focus on freeing Gojo, as I heard Tengen gave them the back door to the seal," Naruto stated, wondering why Tengen didn't just give him the backdoor to the seal so he could release Gojo with Queen's ability.

The again he could have suggested they use his ability, but his own arrogance prevented that. He thought they could defeat Kenjaku on their own, maybe Tengen also had a reason not to use Queen's ability to undo the seal.

Think back on it, Queen Technique is not exactly curse energy negation, but she erases curse energy completely. Tengen must think this power might do more harm than good. Naruto shook the thought out of his head and his mind went to the Yuji group.

From what he learned through Maki, Megumi has recruited the help of Hana, a sorcerer with the ability to negate curse techniques. She is possessed by an entity called an angel who agrees to help them in exchange for help against Sukuna.

"Once and for all, we should focus on eliminating Kenjaku," Naruto declared. He was certain that once the evil sorcerer was gone, things would start to go their way. "The others can do their best to free Gojo."

"You will get no complaints from me, I want that bastard dead too," Yuki responded. While she was not one to hold grudges, she couldn't help but hate the manipulative son of a bitch.

"I knew you would see things my way," Naruto stated with a wicked grin, making Yuki shiver. She kind of felt bad for Kenjaku. "But enough of that for now; there are still some things you need to know about the Culling Games.

The Culling Games is a perilous battle royale designed to evolve humanity by harnessing cursed energy. Participants, known as players, must navigate through ten barrier colonies across Japan, engaging in lethal combat using their jujutsu abilities.

The original rules dictate that upon awakening a cursed technique, players must declare their participation within 19 days at a chosen colony. Failure to comply results in the removal of their cursed technique, leading to death.

"Also, there is the fact that some non-Sorcerers fell ill with something unknown," Naruto continued to explain. "I think that there is more to this than meets the eye, and Kenjaku is in the middle of it."

"That bastard must be up to something bad," Yuki stated. In her mind, she was remembering a conversation she had with Suguru Geto, the body that Kenjaku previously took over, about how to permanently eliminate curse spirits with two methods.

One way was to get rid of all the non-sorcerers in the world, and the other was to make all non-sorcerers able to use and control curse energy, so that way, when they die, the chances are less that a curse spirit would be born.

"Hey, we're meeting up with Maki," Naruto said as he checked his phone. "She texted me the location of the others; they plan to accumulate 100 points to add a rule that allows a player to leave the culling game if they so choose."

Fast Forward

When Naruto and Yuki arrived at the location Maki texted him, they saw a stunning sight: Sukuna was now inside of Megumi's body instead of Yuji's; another sorcerer, whom they assumed to be Angel, was knocked out and injured.

Maki and Yuji were battling Sukuna. They were doing better than the blonde Uzumaki thought they would, but that could be because the king of curses is not used to his new body.

Naruto decided to go help Angel first, they would need her later. While Yuki went to help Maki and Yuji, she was intercepted by a sorcerer who used ice-based curse techniques.

"You will not get in master Sukuna's way," the ice sorcerer declared as she attacked Yuki with blades of ice.

"Who the hell are you?" Yuki demanded as she used Garuda as a whip to defend herself from the ice attacks. "Why are you getting in our way?"

"Without the need to know that, just die," the mysterious sorcerer responded in an emotionless tone as she froze the surrounding area with a burst of curse energy.

Naruto analyzed what was happening as he healed Angel. From what he saw, Sukuna was not at full power, as Yuji and Maki were doing well against him, which shouldn't be the case. It was not that the two were weak, but the king of curses, with almost all his fingers, should be beyond them.

The king of curses was using both his curse technique and Megumi's, but from what he saw, the ten shadow technique is stronger than ever, unlike his dismantle and cleave, which is weakened.

The case in point is that Yuji took the attack like it was nothing. Although he was harmed, he was still able to fight.

The ice sorcerer must know that Sukuna was not at his best, so she was keeping Yuki, and by extension, him from joining the battle with the king of curses.

Naruto tested this theory by summoning a pawn and ordering it to attack Sukuna, but before it could get to the king of curses, the ice sorcerer created a wall of ice to block the curse corpse's path.

"Her intention is to keep me and Yuki as the only true threats to Sukuna here," Naruto stated aloud. It makes sense since we are the only two special-grade Sorcerers.

"Is she powerful enough to keep us here by herself?" Naruto thought to himself as he got up, sure that Angel would die from her injuries. "Let's test that out."

Naruto summoned his green-haired Rook, the curse corpse who knew without the Uzumaki telling her that she was called to protect the Angel just in case Kenjaku or someone else tried to take her out before she freed Gojo.

The Uzumaki jumped into the battle between Yuki and the enemy ice sorcerer. The two were locked in a deadly dance, with Yuki using Garuda to defend and attack, while the ice user used long-range attacks to keep the blonde woman at bay.

This was smart of the enemy, as with Yuki's curse technique, a close range was almost suicidal. So, keeping the blonde woman far away and attacking with long-range attacks is the best strategy to defeat an opponent like her.

Naruto summoned his other Rook for defense and Queen to neutralize all the ice-based attacks. He planned to test the opponent's power while ending the battle as soon as possible.

Naruto landed next to Yuki, who didn't look his way but kept her eyes on the enemy, who released more curse energy, showing that she was preparing herself to use a massive attack.

"Vermin, you will die here," the enemy sorcerer promised. Suddenly, Naruto and Yuki noticed a shadow below them. It was as if the sun had gone down, which was impossible because it was midday.

They looked up and Naruto had a flashback of his battle with Madara in his previous life, as a faint meteor of ice was falling from the sky directly above them.

"Are you kidding me?" Yuki exclaimed in shock as she looked at the attack that was going to flatten a good part of the area. "I hope you have something that can stop that."

Naruto just smirked in response as he did, in fact, have something that can stop that, and it is Queen, his most powerful curse corpse. But not her alone, the Uzumaki will have to use the power of his king piece too to enhance her power.

" I don't know what you fools are planning, but I will not work. My ice is stronger than diamond," the enemy sorcerer declared with confidence. "Just give up and die already, so I can go to my master."

"Sorry to disappoint you, but we will not be the ones dying today," Naruto responded as he pulled out his king piece and activated it immediately.

The Uzumaki used it on the queen, and she started to release a massive amount of curse energy. Her body changed slightly; if she looked like she was in her late teens before, she now looked like a woman in her mid-twenties, with her assets increasing in size.

Queen unleashed a burst of curse energy to attack the meteor of Ice that was heading for them. With a roar, she erased the attack without a trace. Yuki was surprised by this because such a big attack was gone in an instant.

Naruto turned his attention back to the enemy, and to his surprise, she was gone. It would seem she used that massive attack as a distraction to get away.

The next thing the Uzumaki noticed was the giant shikigami he recognized as being one that belonged to the Ten Shadow Technique, which was carrying Sukuna and the Ice Sorcerer flying away from the battle.

"Damn it," Yuki cursed beside the Uzumaki. This was not good at all, now that Sukuna was on the loose with a powerful ally in the form of the ice base sorcerer. Not to mention, they still had to deal with Kenjaku. Things were not looking good.
