Naruto: The Sentinel (CH 1)

Plot:

Most stories that cross Naruto with the X-Men usually make him a mutant on the X-Men side. What if the Uzumaki was a regular human at the beginning and eventually turned himself into a Sentinel?

Key Points:

Naruto hates mutants because one caused the death of his family.

Naruto is a genius who worked with A.I.M. where he met and married Alia Gregor (Naruto can have other love interests, but his main woman is his wife).

Naruto finds a way to turn humans into living sentinels with the power of Nimrod. He used the process on himself, thus becoming the first human machine capable of reproduction.

Naruto has his past memories, but thinks his past self was a fool for forgiving his enemies who tried to kill him and will not make that mistake.

Naruto will, of course, clash with the X-Men, Avengers, and other hero groups.

Chapter 1: Hatred

Marvel Unverse

It was like living next to a nuclear bomb for regular humans because you don't know when a mutant power activates if it will be something destructive that can kill you and your family or something harmless.

Then there's the fact that mutants always seem to be at the center of conflicts; it's as if they attract trouble just by existing.

"Sign mutants are a threat to humanity, but the problem is that humanity is on an evolutionary dead end," Naruto stated in his yellow A.I.M. uniform with his helmet off, examining the X-gene under a microscope, along with the gene of a regular human. "As it stands, humanity's only chance at survival is to breed with mutants."

"It seems inevitable that mutants will become the dominant force on earth," a white-haired, blue-eyed woman in a similar uniform said beside Naruto "Unless our experiment works."

"It will work, Alia, because I refuse to live in a world that regular humans have to live in fear of their lives because someone could be having a bad day and decide to burn everyone's heads off," Naruto responded with a look of determination. "Project Human Machine will save humanity."

"I know but I can't help but worry sometimes that maybe this is our fate, for regular humans to just fade away like the dinosaurs," Alia stated as she worked on her project. "Earlier today, Viper said she had a date with you later."

Alia suddenly said with an annoyed look on her face. She looked straight into Naruto’s eyes as she said this, the Uzumaki didn't flinch at the piercing blue eyes that held a lot of hostility.

"You know why I have to date Viper (Ophelia Sarkissian)? She is in the inner circle of Hydra and can get us all the funding we need," Naruto explained, trying to calm Alia down, but it only seemed to make her more angry.

A.I.M. and Hydra had a very loose relationship, but one that they needed, nonetheless, they sold weapons and tech to Hydra, and they paid them handsomely. There were also cases like his, where he needed funding, and having Viper at his side provided that.

"Go see your whore or maybe you are the whore and she's the trick," Alia said with venom in her voice, she hated that bitch Viper.

"Don't do that, Alia. You know I'm doing this for us, for all of humanity," Naruto said, standing up and hugging the white-haired woman from behind. "I know you don't like all this, but it's the easiest way for us to get the money we need to finish Project Human Machine."

"You are my husband, why do I have to share you with that bitch," Alia exclaimed in frustration, the main issue being they were married and she was supposed to be okay with her husband banging another woman, even if it was for funding. "What if I did the same thing, find some rich man and screw his brains out for money? How would you feel?"

"That wouldn't happen because I would chain you to our bedroom and send whoever man that was brave or stupid enough to hit on you to a one-way trip to the sun," Naruto replied, irritated at the idea of his precious wife touching another man.

Alia shivered when she heard this and knew her husband meant every word; when they were in M.I.T. together, he had gotten into more than a few fights because of other men trying to get with her. If it wasn't for his genius, he would have been kicked out of school.

"I still don't like this," Alia said in a soft, sad voice, giving up. But Naruto turned her face to the side, still hugging her from behind, and claimed her lips in a deep, loving kiss that made the white-haired woman melt into him.

Fast Forward

Naruto, now out of his A.I.M. uniform and into a dress shirt and pants, was on his way to meet Viper. She had requested they meet at a fancy restaurant, to his wife's annoyance.

"I am going to have to do something extra special for her to forgive me," Naruto said to himself, then he let his mind wander.

Mutants are all ticking time bombs, every last one of them. His hatred for mutants doesn't come from the irrational fears normal people seem to have for them, but he has firsthand experience of how dangerous mutants can be.

Flashback Scene Ahead

Dallas, Texas

Christmas [Night]

"Big Brother, do you think Santa Claus is going to bring me that doll I asked for a month ago?" Mito asked. She was a 6-year-old girl with red hair and purple eyes, a perfect copy of her mother.

"I'm sure he'll little sis because you've been very good this year, haven't you," Naruto replied with a wide grin on his 10-year-old face.

Minato and Kushina watch all this with a smile on their faces, their family of four lives in a big two-story house.

"We are really blessed to have such good children," Kushina said as she cooed at the cute sight of her babies.

"We sure are, they take after the best parts of us after all," Minato replied, thanking whatever God or goddess out there for letting him meet his wife and for their children.

The family's happy moment was interrupted by a loud explosion nearby.

"That sounds like it came from James' house," Minato stated as he got up and looked out the window to see the neighbor's house on fire.

"I hope that Mandy is okay," Kushina said with worry as she called the police to get help. "And Jacob and Sara too."

BOOOOM

A massive explosion shook the house, making Kushina grab Mito while Minato took hold of Naruto. The two wordlessly ran out the back door of the house with their children to get out of harm's way, but instead ran straight into it.

"Jacob, is that you?" Kushina asked, because the boy who should be a normal 13-year-old with brown hair and eyes now was covered in red scales with horns on his head; all in all, he looked like a demon.

Instead of answering the demon, Jacob let out a roar that released red-hot flames from his mouth, catching Kushina and Mito.

Naruto and Minato could only watch in horror and powerlessness as their two family members screamed in pain as they died.

All this happened in an instant before Minato could react and try to save his wife and child. By the time the shock wore off, they were already dead, and their bodies were burnt to a crisp.

Naruto's 10-year-old mind could only watch with wide, frightened eyes as his father placed him down; his gaze still on his mother and sister's blackened, unmoved bodies.

"Run, Naruto!" Minato ordered, his eyes dripping with tears of sadness and loss, but he wanted to ensure his last family member survived.

Naruto stood frozen, still in shock about everything that had happened in such a short time. He hadn't heard a word his father said. It wasn't until Minato slapped him on the cheek that the 10-year-old came back to reality.

"Do it now, Naruto!" Minato shouted as he saw the demonic looking Jacob approaching them, thankful Naruto did what he was told this time.

Minato let out a breath of relief as he watched his son run to safety. He turned back to watch as what he assumed to be Jacob approached him.

When the demonic-looking Jacob was right in front of him, Minato could hear the boy muttering, "That's not what I wanted. You always give Sara whatever she wants, but not me. Just because I bullied a few weaklings." Jacob said, his voice made it sound like he was growling.

Minato got a shocked look on his face. He thought some demon had possessed Jacob or something, and he didn't have any control over himself. But it seemed the little brat was in full control and killed his family because he didn't get what he wanted for Christmas.

Jacob has always been a problem child; he would bully others, steal, and even beat up his little sister, Sara. Minato had heard that Jacob's parents had talked about sending him to military school if he didn't change something. The brat went berserk over this.

"Are you telling me my wife and daughter died because you didn't get your way? You're a shirty brat," Minato shouted as he charged at the demonic boy out of fury, not caring about the danger.

"You're just like them. My stupid parents always tell me what to do and that I'm no good." Jacob roared back as he leaped at Minato with killing intent.

It was all over in a flash, Jacob had impaled Minato through the chest. The older blonde was numb with pain, his vision blurry, but his determination was not broken.

Minato, as a final act of defiance, jammed his thumbs into Jacob's eyes, destroying them. The demonic boy screamed in pain and threw Minato off his arm, causing him to bleed out.

This was the scene police, firefighters, and paramedics found when they entered the backyard. They looked at all the carnage and saw demonic Jacob. Police drew their guns.

"Freeze, freak!" one of the police officers shouted, looking at the demonic boy bleeding from his eyes.

Naruto returned, he was the one who told the police where his father was and begged them to help him, but as he looked at his father lying in a pool of his own blood.

BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG

Naruto jumped when he heard the ring of gunfire. The officers rained shots on Jacob until the demonic boy was unrecognizable when he charged at them.

Jacob fell to the ground dead next to Minato before the police could stop Naruto. He walked over to his father's fallen body but stopped and kicked Jacob in the face before he collapsed in tears on top of his father.

Flashback Scene End

Naruto got a dark look as he remembered that the news reported that his parents died as a result of a gas tank explosion.

It was a cover-up by pro-mutant activists who swept his parents' death under the rug, like they had many others caused by mutants.

Naruto recalled after his parents' death that he was taken in by his grandparents on his father's side. They had cared for him until they, too, died. First, his grandmother died from cancer, and his grandfather died from a broken heart, unable to live without his beloved.

For years, Naruto believed Jacob's transformation was somehow demon-related, but after he started studying genetic and cybernetic engineering at M.I.T, he got the full picture.

Jacob was a mutant whose power had awakened when he hit puberty; the little shit had gone on a power high and killed his family, then did the same to his.

Naruto had used his skills in hacking to find out about similar incidents, and to his shock and horror, this was a common occurrence: mutants awakening their powers and regular humans getting caught in the crossfire.

This knowledge that mutants are a danger to humanity made Naruto start to create weapons to combat them. One of the first was a device to block psychic mutants from reading his mind or controlling him.

During his studies, he met Alia, and they started dating. Eventually, they got married. She was one of the good things that happened to him after his family's death.

"Why she chose to be with someone as broken as me is a mystery," Naruto said with a gentle look.

Alia had followed him when he joined A.I.M. after they graduated; his only goal was to use the organization's resources to help him create weapons to combat the mutant threat.

It was in A.I.M. that they discovered that the mutant race would one day be the dominant species on the planet, and the human race would go extinct like the dinosaurs.

To make matters worse, the human race was at an evolutionary dead end. Their species had only a few more generations ahead before they would be stagnant.

"So what is the best solution for a problem like this," Naruto thought. The only answer he could come up with was to artaficaially create a branch of evolution. This is where Project Human Machine came in, meant to merge humanity with machines.

There is something called the Techno-Organic Virus, something he got a sample of from Hydra and studied it thoroughly but he planned to use it to create a virus that would not take over the host but merge with them and create a human-machine hybrid capable of sexual reproduction.

The human who is merged with the modified Techno-Organic Virus will merge with the virus, turning into a hybrid between human and machine; they will keep their memories and personalities.

The major advantage of this is that it will evolve humans so that they can keep up with, if not surpass, mutants. He planned to modify the virus so that it would give the host special powers.

"Sadly, it's still not complete. I'm missing something," Naruto said to himself as he entered The Mansion Restaurant.

"Naruto Uzumaki," the blonde said his name to the front desk receptionist, who was a cute brown-haired woman with green eyes. "I think someone should be waiting for me."

"Yes, sir. She is, and she doesn't look happy," the cute brown-haired woman said, nervously looking at a table with a woman with dark green hair and eyes. "She has been waiting here for over an hour."

"It should be one hour and forty-five minutes by my count," Naruto stated casually, as if he hadn't just admitted to coming late on purpose. "Well, thank you for the help; I can take it from here."

The brown-haired woman watched as Naruto walked confidently to the table where the green-haired woman was sitting. Her gaze was on him, shooting him with a look that could scare the Hulk away.

"You are late," Viper said with anger clear on her face, Naruto didn't even bat an eye at this "I reserved the entire restaurant for this; you know you could have at least come on time."

"Yeah, well, I would have if you hadn't rubbed the fact that we're going on a date in my wife's face," Naruto replied sharply, making Viper flinch. "I had to spend extra time comforting her because of it."

"I was just teasing her she didn't have to get all upset about anything," Viper said, not at all sorry for what she had done.

"Did you get what I asked you for," Naruto asked in a dark tone. The atmosphere got heavy as Viper nodded and produced a briefcase from under the table they were sitting at.

"Do you have the weapons," now it was Viper's turn to ask, to which Naruto gave her a tablet computer and on it was a picture and a tracing device showing their weapons and equipment being delivered to one of Hydra's secret bases, a drop-off point Naruto knew of.

Naruto opened the briefcase while Viper looked at the tablet, inside were blood samples of various mutants. He asked for this so he could experiment with building weapons against mutants and study the x-gene.

There is also his payment for his weapons and equipment; this would no doubt be used and sold by Hydra to mutant hate groups, but Naruto couldn't bring himself to care.

The weapons he sold to Hydra included things like a gun that can shoot special bullets that can track a predetermined person by placing their blood on them before shooting, as well as standard guns that can fire disintegration, plasma, and concussive blasts.

Some force field generators in the form of bracelets can protect the wearer against attacks powerful enough to destroy a city block, and some collars can suppress mutant powers.

"Now that our business is over, let's eat something," Viper stated with a predatorial look on her face. She wanted to eat something, but it wasn't food.

Naruto knew the look on the woman's face; she was horny, and she had brought him here to feed him with the most energy-boosting aphrodisiacs for the long night ahead of them.

Naruto groaned as he shook his head, he had hit something and prayed that it wasn't a human; he was sure it wasn't. As he looked up, he saw a 10-foot robot through his broken windshield.

"Naruto Uzumaki, I am Nimrod, and I think we can help each other," the robot, who identified himself as Nimrod, said as he ripped Naruto's car door off and pulled him out.

Naruto didn't need to be a genius to know that the robot in front of him was trouble; it gave off the same vibe as one of those robots that want to kill all humans, whether mutant or not, like in the movies.

"What do you want from me," Naruto asked, looking for an escape route in case this turns out sour. "How can you help me?"

"I can help you complete Project Human Machine," Nimrod replied, Naruto looked at the robot with a face of disbelief. "You don't believe me, but that's fine; I will show you that I can."

Nimrod placed his hand in front of Naruto and images began to project out of it along with a string of code, the Uzumaki's eyes got wider and wider the more he saw.

"So I take it you believe me now," Nimrod stated as he ended the projection to Naruto's dismay "Now make your decision, will you work with me to eliminate mutant kinds or not."
