Dynamic Cargo Rates! (Initial Test Phase - Agriculture & Food) (ATS)

Hey GDC Logistics Patrons!

Get ready for a significant leap in realism! We're excited to announce the upcoming implementation of Dynamic Cargo Rates for the GDC Logistics Realistic Economy Mod in American Truck Simulator. Our initial testing phase is focusing on the Agricultural and Food cargo category!

As you know, we're dedicated to making your trucking experience as immersive and true-to-life as possible. This new feature is a major step towards a more dynamic and responsive in-game economy.

What's New (Behind the Scenes - Agriculture & Food):

For this initial test, the rates for Agricultural and Food cargos are now being automatically adjusted in our development environment based on the real-life day of the year!

Our powerful scripting is working behind the scenes, analyzing real-world seasonal demand for these goods. This means the base price you see for these cargos will increase or decrease depending on the current time of year, reflecting actual market fluctuations. Hauling crops during their peak harvest seasons will likely yield better rewards, while transporting out-of-season goods might see a price adjustment.

How Does It Work (For Agriculture & Food - Seasons Based on Real-Life Day):

Why This Initial Focus?

The Agricultural and Food sector provides clear seasonal patterns tied to the real calendar, making it an ideal starting point for testing and fine-tuning this system.

What's Next? More Cargo Types and Multipliers Coming!

While this initial test focuses on Agriculture and Food, our long-term goal is to bring dynamic rates to all cargo categories. In future updates, we'll be increasing support for other cargo types.

It's also important to note that not all cargos are directly affected by seasons. To enhance realism across the board, we will be implementing several other multipliers that all cargos will utilize. These additional multipliers, which will account for factors beyond just the time of year, will contribute even further to the realism of our economy after more testing and development.

Manual Mod Updates After Verification!

Our scripting is currently handling these rate adjustments automatically in our test environment. Once we've thoroughly verified the system and ensured its balance, we will manually update the economy mod on the Steam Workshop to bring this dynamic pricing to all of you.

This new feature is now currently available on the latest versions of the Classic and Hardcore Editions via the steam workshop!

Your Feedback Will Still Be Crucial!

Even though the system is automated, your feedback will be invaluable once the updated mod is live. Pay attention to the rates you observe for Agricultural and Food cargos throughout the in-game seasons (now aligned with real-world dates). Let us know if the price fluctuations feel realistic and contribute to a more engaging experience.

We're incredibly excited about the potential of Dynamic Cargo Rates to significantly enhance the depth and realism of the GDC Logistics experience. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for your continued support as we prepare to roll out this exciting update!
