2025-02-25 18:46:24 +0000 UTCIt's interesting details that independent state like Republic city have Yuan money (Chinese money). I like how Avatar is mix of all Asian cultures. Like Water Tribe is Yakutia, Earth Kingdom is ancient China, Fire Nation in Edo Period Japan and Air Nomads is Buddhist monks. And Avatar ATLA and Legend of Korra was anime drawn by Korean studio by US direction. Also Avatar having mix of eastern martial arts movements when it comes to bending elements. Like Kung-Fu, Tai-Chi, Muay-Thai. Now in Korra, Republic City looks like New York in 1920's with Asian roots and republic city benders using in their bending more like Western fighting style like MMA, boxing and kickboxing. So it's a little bit different.
