It's my own headcannon that Aang asked Katara to do a traditional Water Tribe dance together. He knew traditional fire nation dances. The south pole was a hop skip and jump away from the Southern Air Temple. Practically neighbors. Why couldnt Aang know traditional water tribe dance? And Katara would know her own culture. Many people say the dance looks like waterbending, which why wouldn't their dances be based on such beautiful movement. Dance often mimics cultural movements. It'd explain how they were both able to to flawlessly and sweetly dance in sync on the spot.
