Last time, I tried taking a shortcut by replacing the body with something I had made before, but quickly realized that wouldn't work. So I decided to scale things up and build it from scratch instead.
The graphics still look a bit off when applied, but I’m starting to think it’s more of a display issue with my laptop screen rather than something I did wrong… or maybe not. Who knows?
Anyway, I’m keeping at it.
For the skin tone, I reworked it based on the vanilla version. The one on the right is the newly updated one.
The overall color feels pretty good.
The reason the character looks bald right now is because I shaved the head to better check the body shape.
I’ll clean up a few final details and then start breaking it down.
If you're doing this kind of thing for the first time, it's probably better to take a good look at the full figure before disassembling anything.
Last time, I started by splitting everything up right away, and it turned into a massive grind.
Also, the eyes were divided into a ton of parts. Thankfully, I didn’t run into any major issues like mismatched elements or not knowing what file belonged where.
At this point, I’ve got a default face setup with all the necessary elements in place.
As expected, it’s not exactly an easy task… hmm.
First, I’m going to look into the pixel issue a bit more, then fill in the missing facial parts before moving on to creating the remaining expressions.
Also, I remember hearing some feedback that applying the parts could get a bit complicated, so I’ve decided not to work on the updated body type from the latest version.
